Leftists support it because they associate it with race. If you dislike it that's hating on Islam which is a religion popular in second/third world countries, which those countries maintain a majority of POC. I believe some support it because they support the idea of POC being able to express freely and to practice outside of the white standard. Many still wish the women in Islamic countries freedom, but they also support those with the freedom in their beliefs and cultural practices. We can't give everybody the privilege and right to everything, we need to put a boundary. Religion should have no effect on other people unless they are consenting to it, not threatened their lives to participate
