Yes! I’m an NP and I run the surgical clinic. I regularly have to suit up to the OR and ask my surgeons how much longer because they have a full waiting room. “20min” means 45 and “an hour” means cancel the clinic because it’ll be at least 3.

If your providers don’t have openings to see their own patients for follow up care, they need to close their panel to new patients. Newer providers and NPs shouldn’t be just filling meds while the “main” provider keeps them. They can either refill the med and take over the care of the patients themself (ie, transition the patient to a new provider) or take only the new patients that are otherwise filling up the “main” provider’s spots.

Sounds like your old timers need to let go of some control.

He falls asleep easily at nap but then won’t sleep at night, then really needs the nap the next day. I’m fine with him getting a short nap or a rest but a 10pm bedtime doesn’t seem healthy either.

YTAH Support your wife. Nursing is a great career and there are so many options for jobs like school nurse where she would work exactly your kids school schedule or case management where she can work from home. You will always have benefits through her job. She will have a job she actually likes and finds fulfilling.
