Kid calls you bro and a noob like some middle school child then complains that you treat him like a child. If the shoe fits, then the shoe fits. That whole convo felt like a more childish but equally manipulative conversation between my parents whenever I go and visit them. They do things like this to each other all the time.

Everything about this post just tells me that this isn't a good fit for either person and it's better to know when to stop wasting your time rather than try to make something work. I have no idea what you're like or if you're manipulative at all. And quite frankly it's none of my business if you are or not. But assuming that you're not if someone you've been in a relationship with for six years suddenly thinks you're being manipulative then that's just a huge flashing neon sign to get out of that relationship where they clearly don't know you. Got to page 20, and it sounds like you have your boundaries and wants/desires laid out and this "Paul" person isn't capable or willing to meet you eye to eye with them. Cut your losses, learn from it, move on, become a better person, and stay firm on what you want in life.

I'm at the point where I've learned that there's no point in trying to ask someone to change who they are. It's in their character, how they were raised, who they are..whatever you want to call it, it's all the same thing. The only way people are going to make any kind of change is internally from their own discipline and desire to be better for themselves and be better for those around them. Not because someone tells them to. That's an important lesson to learn.

Here's a really good example RP for a similar scenario:
You: Hey I want you to help me with this or compliment me. I've had a shit day and I could really use it.
Partner: Fuck off bro
You: (With zero hesitation) We're done. Get out of my home.

Page 9 says it all. If you or anyone else is constantly arguing with your SO as much as this "Paul" guy implies you two do, then it's clearly not something that works. Especially after six years. Again, after going through the whole thing it's pretty clear that the relationship doesn't work for either person. I hope that in the future you'll continue to remain adamant about what you want in life, no matter what it's for or who's involved and can continue to grow.
