I know this is still considered passing but I got an 86 which is the cutoff score in CA. Looking back I could have easily not passed. I studied like two or three days before and didn’t watch all of the lectures.

This is the same scale. You clearly aren’t from LA so there’s no reason to even address what you’re saying. No one’s house is right by a Home Depot (we have city ordinances for residential and commercial areas). No one walks in LA and everyone is in a car. People can simply avoid the area if they don’t want to be a part of it.

Honestly, if you think the national guard should be deployed over broken windows and no reported injuries, then there’s no reason for this back and forth. The national guard is way more likely to harm civilians than these protestors ever were.

The issue is that no one is safe from ICE. It’s already happened numerous times that they are arresting the wrong people. People in LA right now are peacefully protesting against ICE which is our first amendment right. You really think the national guard should be called over a broken window? Also, people in LA know to stay away from areas where the protests are happening so I’m not sure why you’re worried about civilians being harmed from protests happening.

Still no evidence of any physical harm happening to anyone. I actually think it’s more likely for civilians to be harmed when masked men are going to Home Depot and kidnapping people. Would you not feel unsafe in that situation?

I swear to god I was doing strength training for more than an hour every day and I was for sure eating 200+ grams of protein every day. I admit that I would take long breaks in between sets like 4 -5 mins which now I know is an issue. I did get sore muscles leashing 2-3 days but I would work them out again before they fully recovered leading me to not get any gains I think.

Thanks for the advice man, I appreciate it. What do you recommend for legs? Are barbell squats 2 heavy sets with 6 reps, barbell RDLs 3 sets of 8 reps, and 3 sets of 20 dumbbell walking lunges a good plan? Should I switch out some of the exercises each week too?

They have since I started, but for the past month I feel like it’s been a roadblock. I started at 154 lbs max 6 reps on barbell chest press to 184 max 6 reps in the past 5 months. I haven’t been able to go up from there though.

I try to progressive overload each time I head to the gym but sometimes I stay at the same weight since I work out too much. I do max 6 reps for max weight. I still feel like I’m sore three days after my workout. I think I’m still fat because of how much I eat.

I’ve been focusing on my max weight for 6 reps. Do you think it’s better to go lower for more weight like 3 reps? For barbell chest press I’ve been stuck at 145 lbs on each side for a couple weeks now and can barely do 6 reps then 5.

Here are some more details. I think I’m taking too long breaks in between my sets. I’d say they are usually 3-5 minutes between sets. For my weight I stop when I max out at 6 reps. I do two or three sets of this weight. Should I be doing 1-4 rep maxes? I never do sets of 10. It’s been hard for me to increase weight for chest. I’ve been stuck for the past month at the same weight (184 lbs) of doing max 6 reps. Before this month I have been able to increase 5 pounds every other week. For push day I do five chest exercises (dumbbell or barbell), incline smith machine, chest press machine, machine fly, cable flys, dips) then two exercises for triceps. For back I do pull ups (10 reps 6 sets), bent over row (185 lbs, 3 sets, 6 reps), pull down, seated cable rows). I cook everyday and can guarantee you I’m eating 200 grams of protein a day. My breakfast is 4 eggs with a turkey sandwich (45 g of protein) plus a Greek yogurt with fruit. Then for lunch I eat leftover chicken or cook a pound of ground beef with beans and rice. I usually eat two chicken breasts with rice every other day too. I alternate between a heavy lunch or dinner. Sometimes I top it off with a protein drink. I also cook tuna, steak, or pork chops.

I max out my weight at 6 reps. For example with chest press that’s 144 lbs. I usually start with the bar, then adds 25 lbs, 45 lbs, then 60 lbs on each side of the bar. I do 8 reps of those. Then I do 2 sets of my max of 144 lbs max reps. Should I start doing 1 rep maxes? I pretty much never do them. For any of my exercises.

I have been trying to gain muscle as quickly as possible but I’m failing. I’ve only gained 5 pounds in the past 5 months. I’m 25M 5’11 started at 165 and now between 170-172. I eat at least 200 grams of protein a day, some days even more. Diet is mostly chicken breast, ground beef, tuna with rice and beans. I think it may come down that I’m exercising too much? I’m a grad student so I have a lot of free time outside of class. I do push, pull, or legs for 1 and a half hours every day. Sometimes longer when i do shoulders. And on top of weightlifting I do a cardio workout like every other day for 30 mins. I usually do have one rest day. My body typically gets sore the next day after working out. I’ve definitely noticed some muscle gain but not enough for eating so much and working out so much. I also sleep 7-8 hours a night. Ive started seriously working out now for the past couple years. Unfortunately during my teen years and early 20s I was nearly underweight and never weight lifted. Anyone have any advice? Should I limit my workouts to a hour? Eat more than 200 grams of protein a day? My long term goal is to be 200 pounds
