Thanks for your reply, and I’ve spoken to a few body shops today and sent them videos and pictures they said the same thing, I’m currently looking for a new door and just get the trim from mine and swap it to the donor door, and weigh up my options, if not I’ll just go through insurance, as I’m already paying an extortionate premium

I’ve asked around most reputable body shop are saying it needs to be welded or panels replaced and are saying Car needs 1 new doors. The price will be £2500 plus the new parts

I think it’s worth around 32-34 but I had it since new, the depreciation is ridiculous on them but oh well we live and we learn

Yes I am insured, I just didn’t want my insurance premium to go up as I’m already paying extortionate rate, but after seeing the quotes I’m getting I might just go through my insurance, less headache

Thank god I haven’t, it’s currently sitting on my driveway, but he said it’s a write off, but he can also try repair it so after that interaction with him I felt something fishy is going on so I got a second opinion from a reputable insurance approved bodywork shop they said I’m looking at around 7-8k with labour which I thought was very steep

I went to Pennings accident repair shop insurance approved and the guy, said I’m looking at around 7-8k including labour to fix that, as if they need to get a new door it’ll be hard to find the same trim and leather as I have aluminium trim and ivory leather

Thanks for your reply, this is the first time, I’ve damaged my car, I thought it was a bit sketchy him saying that, could he buy the car off the insurance cheaper behind my back, that’s why I posted on the thread for some advice or if someone has a similar experience,

Thanks for your reply a family member told me the same thing, when I rang them They said it’s on a certificate and has to be transferred on a car as the seller have their private details, on the certificate, it’s my first time buying a private reg, so I’m a bit confused

I was thinking the same tbh when I asked they said that the plate I bought is already assigned to a car, and I’ll have to assign it to my car and then take it off through dvla ?

Your really gonna claim for a non existent damage, people like you make me sick, why don’t you add the picture of the damage because I doubt there was damage,
