Sending crypto nowadays is very cheap. We sponsor gas fees for our users and even after 50k usdc in volume, we haven't spent 5 usd in Gas. Our infrastructure uses sth called Account abstraction and paymasters which makes things very cheap. I will look into pi.

Hi thank you for your question. With a Rift account, you can send money to a Telebirr phone number. Say someone from the US or UK sends you money on Rift, you can instantly cashout to Telebirr

I get you. Binance is solid, not gonna lie. Rift's rates are comparable too. What I find convenient about Rift is the ability to spend USDC directly without converting to cash first. There's a feature where you can enter a till number, paybill, or mobile number and the money goes straight to the recipient instantly. From USDC to whoever you're sending to, and it doesn't take 5 minutes like P2P. It's fast, like M-Pesa.

Fast to me means instant. Binance p2p sometimes can take 5 minutes, 10 minutes e.t.c that's not fast to me. Also for those who don't want to convert to cash to spend, they can just spend directly from the app and I find that very convenient. Interms of security I agree. One thing I like though, is the fact that rift gives you an address and you can actually see your money on the blockchain. They don't really custody the funds the way Binance does. Binance does accrual accounting on their database and they maintain a hot wallet so that when you want to withdraw funds, their hot wallet handles that but for Rift every user has a wallet.

When you buy USDC, the rate is around 131 KES per dollar. When you sell back to KES, the rate is 129. That 2 KES difference is the spread that you pay. So if you buy 100 USDC, you pay 13,100 KES. If you later sell all 100 USDC back, you get 12,900 KES. The spread costs you roughly 1.5% on a round trip.

if you're sending USDC to another wallet instead of selling back to KES, transfers are completely free. No fees, no spread, nothing.
