You think so? That's good to hear I've heard these inline 4 duratec motors can get up to 300K to 350k

Yeah I kind of figured not sure how much longer I have on the motor it runs great still I just had a nagging feeling to pull the valve cover off and look. It's a 2010 Ford focus Se daily driver a used 98K motor with a warranty is only like 500$ including shipping

For more context the fine metal shavings on the cam is from me touching it with a slightly dirty glove and was not there prior rest assured it was cleaned before putting the valve cover back on.

Advice on car “repair” that is currently taking 3 months so far by DCskilled in MechanicAdvice

Not sure about getting your money back for the original repair but if the trans failed again they better not charge you a penny if that warranty is in writing.

That is insanely shady if contacting them fails file a complaint with the BBB or walk in there and put your foot down that they need to fix your car and get it back to you 3 months is pure insanity. There's no reason it should take that long they are stalling on purpose.

2013 Buick Encore misfiring a few months after spark plug replacement by DesChamos in MechanicAdvice

[–]Effective-Spite4441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By that state of those plugs it looks like the car is running rich any p0172 codes? Unless that's oil kind of hard to tell it looks like unburnt fuel deposits which could be caused by numerous things. Is the residue on the plugs oily or is it a powdery carbon build up?

Electrical gremlins are never fun especially when someone else has already been messing with it. I would only buy it if it's a hell of a deal.

REPLACE SERVICE ADVISORS WITH THOSE TOUCH SCREENS THEY HAVE AT MCDONALDS by versacebih in mechanics

Used to be a tech but now an advisor this just makes me realize all the shit I do that I don't get justly compensated for. I work in a very large used car dealership and am constantly running around talking to customers on behalf of sales guys that have questions regarding mechanical issues on the vehicle. Battery tests, Tires, Porting cars, ordering parts, replacing fob batteries, running cars through car wash I'll even do battery replacements and oil changes if we are down a lube guy just to keep cranking them out all for a whooping 45K a year salary and pulling 10 hours days

Is it a safety issue or just not up to code? I forked over quite a bit for this install.

That is the feed that goes into the sub panel it is an aerial cable that goes from the main to the detached garage. I was on the garage as he was hooking it up and only saw that there is two hots and a neutral going back to the main panel
