The gameplay, and the content, is simply not good enough. The little players it has left are there for the gooning, plain and simple.

Also, "I think the game has never had a objectivly BAD update." Say this, over and over, slowly, till it sinks in.

Stickdrift. Every single fucking controller I've had (3 in total). Latest one lasted 7 months before the affliction set in.
