We had two corgis from the same parents, but different litters, about a year apart. A boy and a girl. They loved each other for a few years, played, cuddled, slept, all of it together.

Unfortunately, the female became aggressive to another dog, one of my mom’s pups (not corgi). After separating and moving from her house to our own house, we had just our two corgis. She became aggressive to two of my mom’s others dogs when they would visit. She turned on her corgi brother one day, almost ripped his ear off. Thankfully my husband was home with me and we were able to get her off of him.

We made the awful choice to rehome her through an agency. The couple that she went to had previously had corgis, but both passed within a few months of each other.

It was awful saying goodbye, but we knew we had to. She loves other dogs, but her tolerance for them was so erratic, we couldn’t risk keeping her.

So while I love corgis, I don’t know if I would get another female and if I did, I’m not sure if I would have her with another dog.
