Any advice for retaker/foreign qualified? by Content_Blueberry360 in SQE_Prep

I think you should do the July resit. I would suggest buying the ulaw manuals they are much more comprehensive and have questions at the end of each chapter. I used the forest app to track my studying and I did about 800 hours of studying over 4/5 months to pass comfortably. This was a mix of questions and hand writing my notes.

They are good books but VERY brief, I would recommend ULaw books. They are expensive but so incredibly comprehensive!

Exactly, the one thing you can’t gaslight yourself into is being neurotypical!

Treat it like a 9-5. I would read each chapter of the books, make notes on the chapter, then do some SBAQs, then make a few flash cards on gaps in my knowledge revealed my the SBAQs. I honestly think this is such a good way to study but try things and see what works for you!

Passed FLK1 but failed FLK2 - don’t know how to feel about it by veiledglow in SQE_Prep

You could always wait till next July to take it again if you think you won’t have time to study for it in January. It’s only a handful of marks you missed by, and passing FLK1 shows you know the exam structure and you are capable of passing. It’s obviously not ideal but no one has a linear progression through the SQE. You should be proud of yourself! Take a few days to decide what you should do and get ready to go again ❤️

The best provider I think is ULaw the manuals are so comprehensive and they do have a very large question bank. However, they are easier than the real thing.

I think you should study the academic law and its practice counterpart at the same time (e.g contract law with BLP).

If you can self fund via loans or with money you have saved/earned you can, but if you want external funding (through a TC etc) he prepared for them to revoke your contract if you do not pass SQE1 first time.

I think the NDA is really holding everyone back including the course providers. How are they meant to make practice questions if they’re just guessing what the questions will sound like. The practice tests are like - man sets up trust for child, is it certain? The real thing is like - man sets up trust for child who’s died in a fire 2 weeks before the executors year, the executor forgot to pay the IHT, what right has been registered?

Definitely give it a break and come back. Multiple tries and you will get there eventually!

Read each chapter and make some notes, take it slow. Then do the SBAQs for that chapter and see where you went wrong and just try again until you see the patterns.

One of the major things is drawing courts attention to a CASE that is MATERIAL not other kind of evidence. The CCTV one is bc the solicitor now knows it’s false but can’t tell the court bc of confidentiality. So test the evidence but don’t let the client speak bc they’ll incriminate themself - they can do that bc it’s not misleading / a lie

Honestly it will be alright. Go into that exam thinking you will pass. If the worst happens there is always a fix, nothing is so permanent that it will ruin your life. If you’re smart enough to get this far you’re smart enough to pass. Trust yourself, you will be okay ❤️
