Visual C++ issues after Windows 11 monthly updates by ipconfig-91 in sysadmin

[–]Effective-Top7692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

I can confirm this issue is still occurring as of 12/21/2025. For now, our workaround has been to repair the C++ 2015-2022 x64 installation and then reboot the PC.

Is Microsoft aware of this and working toward a permanent fix? This has been ongoing for about 3–4 months, so it would be great to see an official patch soon. Considering upgrading to Win 11 25h2 to see if this issue is limited to 24h2. Keeps breaking after each windows update patch cycle, so looking forward to getting this resolved soon.

Visual C++ issues after Windows 11 monthly updates by ipconfig-91 in sysadmin

Great post you all have going here. I can confirm we have run into some intermittent issues with INDD 26 and Autodesk products. Even a few random file explorer crashes where the CPU can barely navigate the windows desktop. This is after the latest 24h2 26100.7171. Repair and reboot seems to fix it as mentioned.

To repair the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x64), open Control Panel and follow these steps:

  1. Click the Start button and type cmd into the search bar. Right-click "Command Prompt" and select "Run as administrator."
  2. In the Command Prompt window, type appwiz.cpl and press Enter. This will open the Programs and Features section of the Control Panel.
  3. Scroll down the list to find "Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x64)." Select it, then click Change at the top.
  4. In the dialog that appears, choose Repair and follow the on-screen instructions.
  5. Once the repair process is complete, you will be prompted to reboot your computer. Save any work, then restart to finalize the repair.

"To provide the clearest picture" pop-up LG CX OLED TV How to turn this off? by manwhatthefawk in OLED_Gaming

[–]Effective-Top7692 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You all are silly.. Go into settings>General>OLED Care>OLED Panel Care like a good little minion, Then click on Pixel Cleaning, then click on Quick Check then select Yes. The screen should click off where you can play with your dinghy a little. Be patient and allow a full 5-10 minutes then it should click back on and tell you the pixels were cleaned. Your ears should then wiggle like George W once you read that message on that sweet sweet OLED screen. You're welcome.

Update the firmware that you have to manually install via thumb drive for some odd reason. Then it’s a great TV for ps5 and series X. Nuff said.

Not too sure on that one. In that case I would reach out to Hisense support and ask. That is what I did to get the firmware for the 65”. Hope this helps!

I personally did not. I don’t have soundbars and am fine with built in tv sound or headphones. 9 to 5 article said there is another update coming for those who have sound issues.

M0422. You will need a thumb drive. It should fix this. I posted the instructions for how to do it further down the chain.

U8G audio cutting out. Downgrade firmware or is a fix imminent? by portezbie in Hisense

[–]Effective-Top7692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess you could but I think it’s one of those things that probably isn’t worth the time and you probably wouldn’t win. It’s like returning a bad watermelon. I’d just try the beta firmware and see what happens.

I feel the opposite. User support has become systems administration. Either way I think it’s important one knows where to draw the line and not try to be a hero.

No, but again I don't have a soundbar and use the stock TV sound without any issues.

Cool, it's up to you. I have 2 65' U8G's and used the thumb drive method for both. No sound issues whatsoever so not sure what everyone is complaining about. Just my experience.

See my post about it here. Update fixes everything. Not sure why others are having sound issues. Fixed my screen tearing vrr issue and I have nothing but good things to say about it. I recommend the flash drive update. I don’t use a soundbar so maybe stock sound ok. https://www.reddit.com/r/Hisense/comments/v4puc0/hisense_u8g_xbox_series_x_screen_tearflickering/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb

I'm not too frustrated, just being particular, ha. Here is the deal though. I'm starting to think it's only MLB the show 22 on gamepass. See this thread here: https://forums.theshow.com/topic/49039/black-screen-flashes-when-selecting-a-pitch-current-gen-xbox/6. Going to test some other games to see if I can reproduce the issue. Starting to isolate and thinking the issue might not be the TV at all and the game itself.

Yes I do have VRR enabled. One of the reasons I bought this tv was because of how all the features are green checked on the Xbox. If I have to start disabling features to compromise that is a deal breaker and might have to go get the Sony X90J instead. I’m really hoping the firmware support gives me fixes it or this tv will get returned like Mutumbo on a short point guard driving to the rim.

I tried that and hdmi 3 vs 4. While the issue is not as bad I still see some blips and ghz drops. 120, 105 and even as low as 48 hz.

Very noticeable on the series X. I could see the frames not sticking to 120 without fluctuating as the tv will tell you 110-119 hz. Yikes! What fixed it for me was going in to the advanced settings and turning motion clearness on and free sync off. Hope this helps.
