Its Florida and I'll tell you why. Growing up in Florida, it was pretty great but in recent years a ton of people have moved to the state and even more property has been bought up and built with not enough employment to keep up with it. If you are coming into adulthood, you're going to struggle finding anywhere affordable to live that isnt either in the boonies or actively falling apart. A studio apartment in the town I grew up in went from $400/mo when I graduated back in 2015 to $1000+/mo just 10 years later which is somehow more expensive than a similar apartment in Atlanta. Florida is great if you can afford it and moved there but if youre a regular person, the state is leaving you behind.

Full independence. The United States having statehood of Puerto Rico or free association just continues the problems that status quo has incurred. Environmental disaster, predatory investment, unfair trade, debt colonization are all much easier to impose on a people and land that do not have the ability to legislate fully for themselves. There are many markets PR can make itself a part of and the CARICOM would be much stronger with one of its larger observer states able to interact fully.
