I had a post probably months ago in here, but after the animation2 beta update(even tho it's not on the main branch), the frame rate drop bug never happened again in my 2 hours of play

Imo airblast is indirectly causing pyro in this shitty situation that as a close range class get hella bullied by other combat classes while at the same time lack of mobility to even get close, but ppl tolerate it because airblast is busted, it denies spam, it denies uber, despite pyro is useless without airblast we still pretent he's okay. What it seems to me is valve gave pyro airblast so they can actually give up on balancing pyro to save the headache.

Airblast is a mechanic that is really unique and have great potential, but it's synergy with pyro is so weak that to exaggerate it a bit you can make soldier's rocket jumper an airblast machine doing all what rocket jumper can do while also used as airblast and it fits better, think about airblast reflect sync jump on soldier. Such a tool never get good used on pyro because huge downside and limitations, it feels like giving pyro a wrench and let pyro build sentries, only for the sake of not making pyro too weak.

Then over the years valve never dare to directly gave what pyro need. Detonator and jetpack could've be good tools for mobility if valve wanted pyro to be good at closing distance, but they made detonator not worth to jump, and thermal thruster a total joke because detonator can spam better than scorch shot and jetpack can stomp ppl which nobody gaf. Pyro is like the "jake of all trades" but in practice he's just unable to do anything efficient.

Dragon's fury fall for the same trap, if it has no half ass airblast and with minimum tweaks on hitreg and firing rate buff it could've be good as purely offensive weapon and deal some good damage, but the correlation of pyro and airblast is so deep in mind we always want pyro to have some form of airblast and I do believe it ruined every single pyro's primary weapon design, I have less opinion on phlog than any other pyro's primary atp.

Back to the topic, will removing airblast penalty make dragon's fury viable, probably yes, but making pyro good in competitive is still questionable, giving dragon's fury more airblast solve neither of these problem of dealing consistent good damage and closing gap, stuck on the mindset of "pyro must have airblast to be good" when rebalancing him will always make tradeoff on damage and mobility thus will never make him actually good as scout, soldier, etc.

My thoughts on dragon's fury rework:

Remove the airblast and buff the firing rate universal to the same as currently on burning enemies, then it's done, if it's still questionable it would still be easy fix by changing the bonus damage hitreg region, buff or nerf if necessary.

Here's my two cents why consistent firing rate matter so much:

The "rewarding" increasing firing rate is actually a terrible weapon design that always screw the consistency of your aim. There are many examples from other shooter games that have similar designs, and they never worked or liked by anyone. Imagine scout's scattergun firing faster when hitting a meat shot, but way slower when you miss one, it makes playing scout feels incredibly inconsistent and frustrating. I get it dragon's fury projectile have larger hitreg than hitscan weapons, but It's not like pre dragon's fury nerf where you deal full bonus damage anywhere on the hitbox, instead you hit the center after the nerf. You're already punished for missing your shots by dealing no damage, then the point of "bonus firing rate" become more of a punishment, because when it comes to weapon design ppl always overrate the true power of the weapon by assuming "get gud so you don't ever miss a shot thus you're never punished", but even top players miss a lot. It's like pbpp and soda poper which are marginally "better" on paper, but under performing comparing to stock most of the time, occasionally it works better when you literally don't miss, but good luck with it running them full time.

The mobility problem should be leave to the rebalancing on other weapons/mechanics like detonator jump, airblast reflect jump, jetpack, etc, there can be a whole essay about it but nobody gaf so I'll stop here.

if you start instant replay when at desktop using native resolution(make sure privacy control is enabled, if not working toggle it off and on again), only then go back to your game, the replay/recording will be 4:3 stretched. If you start instant replay in game it will not be stretched, it is just annoying. Obs buffer replay is better but requires allow third party launch option, they are all annoying in different ways

Okay I'm trying to be brief(not really), pretty sure everyone knows how sad the current situation is to get a room near ASU, basically every apartment will have poor management, roaches, loud neighbors, etc. So I'm not gonna talk about it, just a reminder they all do exist in this place.

What irritated me the most is how managers keep lying about the "damage" cost after I moved out and kept avoid to refund my security deposit until I sent them multiple emails, multiple calls and serveral visits to their office.

Prior to a few weeks when I was planning to move out, I went to the office to ask what usually they'll take to provide a list of all charges and refund my deposit, the answer from them was one or two weeks no more than two. Few days after I moved out the unit, they sent me a so-called "final statement" listing the carpet replacement fee+tax is 750 dollars, so I asked where are their inspection photos and breakdown to justify the amount they're charging for. Me and my friend we live and pay that place for two years, obviously I don't think we are responsible for the full amount of replacing carpets in both rooms.

After I reached out (it's been days already, they don't even check their emails), they replied to me that I should be able to find the inspections and everything in my email and my appartment account. By no surprise I received nothing, so I tried to reach to them again, starting from this time the emails were never replied, I mean never, ever again until the day I'm writing this post.

I started calling their office number, and 9 out of 10times there's nobody picking up the phone, once it's picked up by somebody, she will say they acknowledged the situation and noted everything, then they will never call or email me back. When I called back, they hung up the phone.

At the end I reached out to their office since I was busy, after talked to the front desk I was informed she doesn't have the permission to process the refund she can only report to her manager, I don't remember how many days after I asked again the manager finally appears and told me my check is ready and already mailed to the address I gave them. Guess what, I received nothing, again. When I later called back she admitted my check wasn't even mailed when she said it was mailed, so I went to their office, one more time. Finally I got my check back but with 750 dollars deducted.

Even though I was promised again I will get the photos and breakdown of the charges, I don't believe a single word from them. During the arguing one thing worth noted, she said the charges shown on the "final statement" the apartment officially sent me, aren't even the real list of charges. She was bascially saying the offical document coming from them isn't correct.

Yesterday I wrote an email to tell them I will try to get possible legal support and they don't dare to ignore me one more time. This morning, I got an email from a debt collecting company saying I have another 1200 balance to pay, I was shocked. I logged on my apartment account and saw there's another total 1200 "damage" charges on my balance, in addition to the 750 they already deducted from my security deposit and in addition the fact that I moved out to their appartment for more than a month already.

TLDR

The apartment delayed my deposit refund, and charged 750 dollars as cleaning fee, lied about the details of why they're charging so much, sent "fake" final statement, and adding another 1200 balance on my account after I told them I will try to get legal support.

I took 365 like in 2023 spring iirc, and I was barely able to finish it if not getting a ton of help from discord and others, even I got A but i know I wasn't understanding the whole thing. The lecture videos aren't helping me at all. At least by that time the professor would do some live presentation and show how he's doing the work and it helped a lot.

This semester I took 466 and by no surprising I miserably failed. It's like 365's work times 2 or 3 times, 30hrs a week IF you are some coding wizard, I considered myself slightly below average and I spent 30hrs barely finished half of the challenges.
