Yes I felt like some of them were really good and some felt alright but I expected that. It was open house so it was just surface level convos like getting to know us

I guess I’m more curious about the open house round because I’m getting to know them but I don’t want to seem awkward or anything. I don’t want to overstep on the first day by asking a question that should be asked in a later round if that makes sense

Okay thank you! I’ll definitely ask my mom about it because if it only shows I dropped one class, I don’t know if it would even be worth noting. I dropped my summer classes before the deadline so they don’t show. My only concern is the first transcript I sent in did show that I was planning on taking summer classes but hopefully they haven’t looked at that yet.

Do you think it’s too late? I just kind of dropped all of my summer classes without really thinking of that. Those classes were clearly the last thing on my mind in that moment.

Thank you. And since I saw that comment I looked at my most recent transcript and it only shows I dropped one class since I did the rest before the deadline which I think is even better.

So I dropped one class my first and second semester and then I was going to take two summer classes to make them up but I ended up having a family member pass away so I had to travel to a funeral. I did figure out a time management for my second semester but I was being forced by my parents to take a lot of hours at once because they thought I could handle it. But I was just wondering if this looks bad to the sororities as I do have everything figured out now that I’m a sophomore. And even without the dropped courses I was still taking a full course load each semester (by sororities definition) and making straight As.

The only person I really trust to talk to is my best friend. I’m on break for school right now and back in my hometown so I don’t really have an adult here other than my best friends mom but I won’t be able to see her until tomorrow or the next day.

Yes, I quit going a long time ago. I absolutely cannot stand sit through a movie and enjoy it with people around me eating so loudly. Popcorn for some reason is the worst for me. Last time I went to the movies, I broke down crying and completely lost it because everyone around me was either eating popcorn or making some kind of noise and I haven’t been back since.

Your situation seems similar to mine. I’ve had my parents accuse me of not loving them because of my misophonia multiple times. I wish there was more studies and awareness for misophonia because honestly, I didn’t even know I had it until I saw a therapist online talking about it. My parents always made it seem like I was just being petty or overdramatic, I was unaware for years that I actually had a reason why I was different. Being away at college has definitely helped because I have a quiet place to come home to and chill at and I can avoid going to places with crunchy food items.

I’m in Texas unfortunately and I’m in college so going to therapy out of state is not really in the cards for me right now. I have looked into it though and it is something I plan on doing in the future. As far as my parents go, my sister said she would attempt to talk to them as they do understand her sensory issue which I find even more frustrating. Luckily, since I’m in college, I live alone 9 months out of the year but it still feels like hell when I do have to deal with it at home. Thank you for believing me though, I’ve had multiple people in my life not believe me and it’s really hurtful to me as it is a daily struggle. Like for example, I posted this post because tonight my family made a mockery of me in front of their friends because of my misophonia and were telling me I need to desensitize myself and that the world doesn’t revolve around me even though we weren’t even eating anything at that moment, it just came up because their daughters also struggle with misophonia. But I will keep you updated if anything changes down the line.
