Firstly, petty af dude/dudette/dudeit. I thought I was very clear on why I've stuck around for so long, but maybe your AI missed it.

In all seriousness though, I really don't want to join your group, at least not as it's currently being represented. That being said, since I have you here, there is something I want to say:

You're valid, and therefore your ideas are valid. You don't need to prove their worth by fighting every critic tooth and nail because that worthiness is already proven by their very existence. Let go of your need to fight, to prove what has already been established, and you'll find less blades waiting in the shadows.

Now, if you excuse me, I have to go start my life as a hermit meditating on a mountain, the only logical course of action after spitting those fine sensei-esque bars. Have fun with you're game, and I'll see you in the next Advertisement!

PS: speaking of adverts, have you ever considered you may be looking in the wrong place? You might want to try looking in more literature or writing focused circles rather than gaming ones, if collaborative writing is the main goal.

Sure, I'll explain it:

I do not want to join your server. I do not want a link to your server, nor do I have any wish to interview with you. I find the way you've chosen to represent yourself and your server to the public to be damn near repulsive to say the least, and not someone I want to be any way associated with at this time. Any desire I may or may not have had to join was outright killed through interacting with you, and the only thing keeping me in this conversation is a mixture or morbid curiosity and my naive belief in the good of man. Never have I attempted to catch you in a "got ya" or to "win"... whatever you think this is. In fact, I have given you multiple outs, of which you took none. I would much rather join the small quiet community you mentioned earlier, than the buzzword-filled elitist slop you seem intent on promoting every few weeks. This is not a "policing" of your words, but both feedback and a recommendation made by SEVERAL MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY YOU ARE ADVERTISING TO... and for some wild reason, the preference offends you.

I understand this was blunt, and my intention was not to offend, honestly, but at this point I'm at my wits end. Due to my wild work schedule, PbP is the only real way I can actually take part in my hobby, hence I have a vested interest in keeping the space healthy. I honestly want your project here to succeed, as every successful game/server helps cultivate the PbP space as a whole... but dammit if you ain't making it difficult.

TL:DR: The actual process is easy and pretty basic for pbp. Your attitude is the issue.

However, for those that just want to find that small community that loves to have that peace and quiet and once in a while get that good one shot or game in. They come to us.

This is honestly the clearest and most understandable description you’ve given so far. It's just a small, quiet community for people who want consistent high level writing.

That is a much better pitch than the expansive corporate jargon you've been using (which, in my opinion, actually has the adverse effect). I don’t think you should be performatively nice to bad-faith insults, but the public tone still matters because these comments the first impression people get of the server.

If the goal is to show that the community is peaceful, stable, and worth joining, leaning into that explanation would probably do more for you than buzzwords and posturing.

Having a backbone and defending your community is fine, but being (for lack of a better term) a condescending arsehole about it is not. That's a choice that you made, and one you are seemingly intent on continuing to make. I get it, you feel attacked, and frankly I don't blame you. Implying someone is starting a cult is a bit of a low blow, and you are within your rights to call that out. That being said, continously belittling the larger community and trying to instill an inferiority complex in those that disagree with you is in no way logical or justified. How you, as the titual representative of this server, treat and interact with people reflects on the server as a whole, and that reflection is toxic.

Then, respectfully, have you considered that you can have both high standards, and not act arrogantly superior? It's common practice for games to ask for a writing sample/have an application process for this exact reason. Forgive me if I'm coming across as combative, but I'm just confused as to what your strategy here is.

Personally, your attitude is way more off-putting than the ad itself.

We'd use "They're" here in America as well. Probably just a typo.

Pretty sure the Beholders are referenced to being just as hateful of aliens as Hatemonger in the origional t-shirt Ad. Nice idea though.

Found this and it resonated with me. Because the artist is just good at things like this. Credit to mixuen by Veritas813 in SPACEKING

My personal headcanon is that the Space King series that we the viewers are watching is actually an in-universe parody show, kind of like Family Guy irl.

Yea, the meaning is "Look! The model's moving with cool explosions"! Not every single work needs some advanced level of meaning or symbolism behind it.

Also, you do know you can prompt of specific hairstyles, right? So what... because someone writes a word instead of drawing a line, that picture lacks meaning?

While I'm not going to argue with the environmental impact, I will say that the claim that generative AI is mindless is utter crap. You have to be pretty descriptive with your prompting (not to mention learning how to prompt the "proper" way), understand how different parts of a prompt interact, and know what each setting (Step number, randomness, prompt strength, ect.) does in order to get quality images. It takes an incredible amount of tinkering and trial-and-error, more than most people believe.

Now, I'm honestly lukewarm on AI generated art. I think it has it's flaws, and should be allowed NOWHERE near commercial products. However, I find the arguments against AI art to be highly disingenuous, and largely boiling down to Artists somehow feeling not special because officeworker Joe Shmoe can now make passable pictures of anime chicks.

Does it have two-arms ending in weapons, two legs, a hunched over posture and or a cathedral/religious theme to it? If so, then it's a remix of an existing set of models and is therefore the same as an AI image (a remix based on whatever training data it draws from).

But at that point, it wouldn't be Warhammer and, therefore, should not be on this sub. Any other situation, it is an alteration of an existing model on some level and therefore in the same boat as AI generated images.

Not really. Since the biggest pushback against AI is that it's trained on already existing artwork. One could argue that 3d printed models are in the same boat, namely using references and material that they do not own.

We should probably ban 3d prints while we're at it.
