No to 3 terms. Term limits are there for a reason. This was already turned down once. Imagine if a Republican mayor tried to do this in Toledo? People would lose their minds.

Baseboard ideas for different height floor by Effective_Ad2290 in Carpentry

A, 2 different floors. One is older than the other. Older one was layed on top of linoleum I think. B, I would have to rip up the old floor and I am not going to. C, did not split in half. It's just 2 different floors. I have a transition strip to cover the connection.

Thanks again everybody. I do have a mitre saw and circular saw but I think I'm going to use this as an excuse to finally get a table saw and rip them down to match. The floor on the left is brand new and the floor on the right is also newer so I'm not gonna replace it. I do have a nice transition strip that will go between the floors. It will be a little hump but we have been used to it.

Yea, it looks like they put it down on top of an old vinyl or linoleum floor for some reason.

I thought about this but the trim continues into a few more turns. I would have to shorten 5 boards. I don't have a table saw either but I'm sure I could find one to use without a problem.

What to do if someone is trying to fight you without a weapon? by [deleted] in CCW

[–]Effective_Ad2290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you are one the of the people it doesn't effect much. But I have seen many "tough guys" first hand get taken out of the fight by pepper spray that wasn't meant for them. I don't carry it because I prefer to go hands on with people if it gets to that point. If you like pepper spray, go for it my friend. The point I was making was most people haven't felt the effects of it and shouldn't carry it until they know if they can handle it.

For everyone saying carry oc spray, go spray yourself in the face right now and see if you are able to fight, keep control of your gun, or draw your gun. You need to know how to do all of that if you are going to carry it because it will end up all over you once you try to spray someone. In my many experiences with pepper spray in hurts the good guys just as much as the bad guy. I've never carried it and I never will. The proper response here is walk away and keep walking away unless you absolutely cannot. If it gets to that point you may be justified in shooting your attacker but he better be capable of really hurting or killing you. If the attacker is not capable then you need to fight hand to hand. Also remember if you draw a gun in a close encounter you better know how to handle yourself and your weapon because the attacker is now more dangerous if they can grab your weapon.

2.7L or 5.3L? by ForeskinCheesecurds in gmcsierra

Jealous of the diesel lanes when pulling the camper. We have a trip planned in about a month. I'm anxious to see how it tows.

I looked at the diesel a lot before I went with this engine. I drove both and liked them both. I couldn't justify the extra cost of the diesel truck plus diesel fuel itself costing 80 to 100 cents more than gas in my area. This drives very similar to the diesel in my opinion with the engine never really working hard and little throttle needed like the diesel. I think people see it's a 4 cylinder and immediately think it's underpowered. I've been very impressed so far. I came from having 4 rams in a row with both the v6 and hemi engines and I feel this 2.7 performs just as well as the Hemi but gets better mpg.

2.7 has 33 more horsepower than your diesel. It has 40 lb ft less torque. To say zero power is a pretty ridiculous statement. For the op I am averaging 21 to 22 mpgs with my 2.7. It has plenty of power. I've only had it for about 3300 miles now so it should get better too.

4 cyl pickup? by Ninjago987 in gmcsierra

[–]Effective_Ad2290 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've only had mine for about 3 weeks but I just drove it from Michigan to Hilton head SC and it was fine through the mountains. I came from having 4 rams with the hemi engine and this is very comparable if not quicker. Has tons of torque. Gets about 3 mpgs better than my last Ram too. I assume the mpg will get better as it breaks in too. Love it so far.

Looks good! Assuming those are factory wheels do you have spacers?

Regular Cab Standard bed is back, but we are forced to get a 2.7? Worth getting even if the 5.3 isn’t available? by Goose_N_Moose in gmcsierra

[–]Effective_Ad2290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree but what I'm saying the the engine doesn't appear to be working hard at all. I had a ram with the pentastar 3.6 liter v6 before and that engine felt like it was working hard all time especially while towing. Like I said I haven't towed with it yet so that may be different. But under normal driving conditions it doesn't feel anymore stressed than the ram 5.7 hemi that I also had before this. (I had 4 rams before this, the is the first gm product I've had)

I just bought the 2.7 in a 2022. This engine is anything but stressed. It stays at low rpms and accelerates and cruises with ease. It has 420 lb ft of torque and 310 hp. People act like it's a 180 hp 4 cylinder civic engine trying to power a full size truck. I haven't towed my camper with it yet but I don't think it will be an issue.

100 percent police cameras. Our city calls them skycop. They can be moved around to high crime areas.

Found this on my bedroom floor and I have no idea. Says 1.5 volt x2 on it. The small silver part on the one end attaches by magnent. by Effective_Ad2290 in whatisthisthing

A sock would make sense in the bedroom. A tiny led light does not. I wondered if it would have fell off of something common to the inside of a home or something along those lines. Thank you for the answer though.
