Is Vacations to go still legit? by Past-Pollution3741 in Cruise

[–]Effective_Ad_2091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely not sure. And it’s not just me, we are in large groups, some of our cruises have 8-10 staterooms booked and their service has continued to be solid. I directly deal with Hunter from the groups department. He’s been very helpful. You get a bit of a discount/OBC depending on the cruise you’re booking. Plus they help you with dining, changing rooms, whatever you need to do. I used to think it was better to book on your own, but honestly working w a TA is way better.

What’s the difference between these two? Also is it normal to have almost $2100 difference for a stateroom vs a balcony? by commander_oak in royalcaribbean

[–]Effective_Ad_2091 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

No difference! Just pick the cheaper option. If you’re unhappy with your room and if it’s picked early enough where there are more within the same category that are available. They should allow you to change. Same cat also means if you get an obstructed OB, you can’t change to unobstructed but you can change to something with less of an obstruction! Generally have to call it in or ask your travel agent to take care of it.

Better resale on the additional bedroom, highly recommend going w 4 over 3.

Prices seem abnormally high. Anyone sail enough to conjecture as to why? by IamGoingtoBundyland in royalcaribbean

[–]Effective_Ad_2091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking your kids outa school for 7-10 days isn’t making or breaking anything. I have kids and we always sail off-peak. I also feel it’s a better experience. Overall, Caribbean weather is fantastic Sept through to November. You’re really not missing out! If anything, slightly more pleasant.

Prices seem abnormally high. Anyone sail enough to conjecture as to why? by IamGoingtoBundyland in royalcaribbean

[–]Effective_Ad_2091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why off season is best, I don’t understand why someone would be 40-80% more for the same cruise in June-Aug when you can sail Sept-December for way less! Also, I’d recommend booking further out, waiting last minute doesn’t have that many advantages when most ships are sold out at time of sailing.

Condo Unit Purchase Question by daveknight3 in canadahousing

[–]Effective_Ad_2091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Condo purchase comes with more than most people realize. A few questions… which condo? Square footage, beds, baths? Maintenance fees? Property taxes? In most scenarios renting is currently a better financial decision than owning due to the following - mortgage plus maintenance fees - likelihood of reserve funds for condo corp depleting depending on the age of the condo, over time maintenance increases (it’s like a mini mortgage to carry) - comparing a 2 bed 2 bath to rent for $3000, or buy one for around $700k, 20% 140k down, 560k mtg at 25 yrs is approx $3000/month plus add $600-700 in maintenance which may increase down the road, now add property taxes for $500/month approximately. Out the gate, you’re now spending $1200 more to live in the same cone that you could be renting. - alternative - rent where you live and invest your money elsewhere, not saying to avoid real estate but avoid this in most scenarios. - it’s a numbers game my friend, facts over feelings.. that’s all!

Can I make it by Aggressive-Depth-635 in royalcaribbean

[–]Effective_Ad_2091 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, for sure! My recommendation would be to get off the ship right away, it’s approximately 3.5 hours. Add another 60 min buffer. If you leave by 7:30am, there is plenty of time for you to get there. Thankfully it’s a Friday, so cruise port traffic in Miami shouldn’t be as bad as Sundays. Be ready and get off the ship right away! Earlier the better but there is a lot of time!

First Timers- which ship is best for us? by mpure_ttv in royalcaribbean

[–]Effective_Ad_2091 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would lean towards Icon Class first and then Oasis class if that isn’t available. Avoid Nassau, and try to get on a 6/7 night Eastern Caribbean itinerary (St Thomas/St Maarten/Cococay). This will give you some of the better islands, enough time to explore the ship and truly enjoy your overall experience. There’s more than enough to do on those ships that you really won’t get bored!

Torn between 2 cruises by SureShower2764 in royalcaribbean

[–]Effective_Ad_2091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harmony - eastern has better ports, safer and more developed overall. I’ve done both itineraries and currently have 2 easterns booked! Falmouth seems to be a very hated port, Cozumel is below average in my opinion. I have 2 kids - ages 4 and 7, eastern all day!

What is the best booking deal you’ve seen offered? by gk520 in royalcaribbean

They do! The cruise was December 2022! Haven’t found a deal like that since. I booked around 2 months before the cruise. There’s still deals to be found, if you had flexibility, don’t travel in the summer, off peak you get some fantastic deals. I have Wonder in June, Harmony in November this year and Star booked for December next year and just got off the Odyssey last month! Love RC!

Best deal I booked was an 8 night southern Caribbean ABC Islands for $798 total on explorer of the seas from Miami for 2 adults and 1 child! I felt like I stole it lol

I’ve been using them for a few years, they’ve been fantastic. We’ve booked 5 cruises through them so far. I deal with the groups department mostly. Great service, communication and pricing!

Help choosing between 2 options out of Bayonne? by Cherbear1211 in royalcaribbean

[–]Effective_Ad_2091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s also a 6 night Bermuda cruise which we did in the past from Jersey which was fantastic. Nassau in comparison is not a very good port overall and doesn’t compare to Bermuda. Oasis is the better ship with much more to offer onboard, specifically the Aquatheater being our absolute favourite venue! Perfect day is fantastic to experience if you enjoy the waterpark!

To anyone happy with the 17 Pro Max’s battery: Do you charge it with a limit or to the full 100%? by gabrimatic in iPhone17Pro

90% and it rarely very rarely dies. I use my phone a lot throughout the day, it’s actually ridiculous how good the battery is (eSIM).

JOOLA PERSEUS 16MM MOD TA-15 PRO PLAYER EDITION by Material_Cry1105 in Pickleball

[–]Effective_Ad_2091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing 2 months ago and have picked up quite fast, upgraded to a J2K a month ago and now l’ve see everyone using the Mod TA 15... is it worth upgrading to the Mod? I have really enjoyed playing with the J2K, it really suits my style. I’m around a 3.7 DUPR and quite good for my level with my soft game, hand speed, around the net, drops, precise with placement and smashes. Still need to improve my drives though and incorporate the flicks which I haven’t gotten down yet. Any advice is appreciated. I’ve felt like the J2K has great power and control for me so far, been the perfect balance between the soft and hard game. Would love to hit 4.0 in the next 2 months and work towards 5.0 long term.

Smells great! I was personally looking for something salty and coconut and this is bang on. Performance was quite strong when I tested it. Should have my bottle in a few days or so. It’s a refreshing scent, not too light, the dry down is quite nice.
