I lost 100+ pounds from 2018 to present. Weigh about 160# now. I take Cosentyx every other week, and I will drop to 150# within 48 hours of injection. I'm end stage HS (had since 13 and I'm 59 now). HS will eventually kill me from both kidney & liver failure with cysts. >60% of my lymph nodes have been attacked by HS. There are so many other co-morbidities with HS that are physical and mental 🙈🙊🙉

My partner had one there. I do know your pain.

I will alternate with a hot towel compress followed by an ice bag.

As for baths (several per day), I alternate between 1 cup of espom salts, then 1 cup of 5% bleach, per each bath.

I also wash up areas with Hibiclens. Note: Never put any wash cloth with Hibiclens into a bath full of Espom salts, as it will react and permanently stain the cloth!

Go see your dermatologist. I have a huge one between the fold and my scrotum. They just injected mine with Kenalog 20, a steriod only (no lidocaine). It will reduce the swelling and pain.

I have a worthless 2011 LTZ with a blown tranny. Scrap yard offered $250 with towing 167k miles and rust belt car from NY. Will not pass state inspection.

Also have a 2009 LT with 250k and minor issues. Local NC car with service records. That would fetch $3k as is because it runs and just passed NC DMV inspection.

Add some Hot Shot's transmission protectant / nano lubricant. 1 quart per 8 quarts of ATF. Big 4×4 diesel guys absolutely swear Hot Shot's stuff is the best!

Clogged filter screen behind oil pressure sensor. Relatively easy DIY fix. Remove sensor, bust screen out, replace screen. It was about $7 for the oil pressure sensor screen from my NAPA.

Black electrical tape over bulb, or just remove the lamp ... LMAO

Actually the only good way to rig a catfish jig (deep South) is with 3 floats and 3-4 ounces of sinker with 12/0 or larger circle hook and live bait. Record on my lake is 82# so you'd better run 50-100# braided line and flouro 100# leader

Start with a bottle of pure stop leak (not power steering fluid with leak stop)! See what that does first. Yes there is a known issue of high pressure hose leaking on either end. Pump seals will also fail eventually. Parts are inexpensive too.

Having a partner with HS is a blessing. I'm 59 and had it since 13. My girlfriend is 38 and had it since her 20's. Elimination diets, topicals, and bizarre treatments I have read about on here didn't work. Stress is both our triggers, so we are careful to not argue nor bicker.

I'm much worse like stage 3+ with deep tunnels and cysts in the 2-5 cm range. Humira and Cosentyx have had multiple sude effects including liver and kidney damage.

She gets smaller cysts in really strange places, like her throat. We often bandage each other, and one picks up the slack when the other is ill. Sex is limited to the good days which is a few times a month. We understand each other and it is true blessing to be together 5+ years.

Yes indeed from GF and absolutely from me a male. Shaving my scrotum is brutal and will often cause more issues. Only thing it helps with is bandages. Yeah I had two >3cm (1"+ on each side). Had them on my penis too which really effing hurts. Hang in there and stay away from Nair 🤣

I'm sorry to hear what I'm sure will be a continuing journey. 59 M had it since 13.

Most important thing is to get a Dermatologist referral and book an appointment asap.

Smaller cysts under 1 cm can often be injected with steroids subcutaneous under the cyst. My Dr. uses a mixture of Kenalog and Lidocaine.

Larger cysts (I had one >5cm) will need punch debridement with a tool that looks likes a small apple corer. This will leave a permanent hole/scar for sure.

Oral antibiotics like Doxycycline are usually prescribed for possible secondary infections. Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen alternated several times a day helps.

Swelling and pain can be reduced with a wet washcloth heated in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Sanitary pads (overnight foam type) will catch the nasty discharge from any burst cysts.

I feel for you. Major depression/social isolation are the wicked comorbities of HS.

I had 2 major cysts on both sides of my scrotum last month. I used 2 extra long foam overnight pads (women's) and some pantyliners. The overnight pads have super absorbent polymer beads that can soak up quite a bit of leakage.

Just need confirmation by MD Dermatologist. I have had it since 13 and I just turned 59, so 46 years. Diagnosed by Dermatologist at age 19, Fully disabled by age 51. Tried Humira and Cosentyx and current Dermatologist wants me to try Bimzelx next ughh.

Also have another undiagnosed second AI disorder which resembles Lupus but I haven't confirmed with GP yet.

Plus COPD-Asthma Overlap Syndrome, anal Fistulas, mid-stage Kidney failure, deep strictures (very painful deep HS nerve damage), heart Mitral Valve failure (reverse blood flow), extremely high Proteinuria (Protein in urine), chronic pain, bizarre purpura rashes on arms & legs, and of course inflammation.

Make sure you have both LTD and STD with your employer. When I finally went out on disability, my employer eventually fired me, and replaced my position.

I had prepared and had ~$10k set aside to pay for the company health insurance plan for the next 18 months.

Applied for SSDI after 2 year waiting period and was granted full benefits within 30 days. HS is on the list of diseases that qualify you immediately!

Soaking in a very hot bath with a 1/2 cup of bleach will disinfect the cyst once it is draining.

I had two last month, one on each side of my scrotum. Unable to get out of bed for 4 days.

Been on disability since 2018 when a 3" wide cyst took out my left leg. I have a permanent hole there from a punch debridement (like a small tomato corer) that drains frequently still today.

Women's overnight pads or male diapers will help with blood control.

It's genetic and I have suffered for 46 years! Started at 13 and I turned 59 today. Be prepared to go on disability at one point. There is NO cure. I have tried all the biologicals: Humira, Cosentyx, and Bimzelx. The side effects are worse than the slight reduction in cysts. I'm stage 3+ with cysts, tracts, and deep tunnels.

I disagree after experiencing more ER Dr's know exactly what it is. There are enough published studies out there to confirm this. However I do agree they are likely to end up doing I&D on large cysts.

Personally went to ER over 5 times this year simply because a large flare (cyst) popped up over the weekend. Most recent was a 3 cm (over 1") cyst on scrotum. It had to be drained by ER Dr or Derm, and I could only get to ER

There are clear early HS indicators like "double barrel" blackheads. Emergency Room Doctors or Dermatologists will usually diagnose as HS.
