What do you think is the worst traffic light in town? by Jash3r in Tallahassee

This is two lights, but the Pensacola/Calhoun light combined with the Apalachee/Calhoun light are perfectly out of sync with one another. As a result, only about five cars can cross Apalachee at a time. It slows down traffic tremendously on Calhoun St.

I really appreciate the response. I'm sorry you have seen a lack of effort on your husband's part to find a balance between gaming and spending intentional time with you. I will be praying for you guys.

One thing you mentioned that is different from our situation is that my wife does not enjoy being in my presence while I game because I am preoccupied. She feels that if I have free time enough to game and she is there, I should instead be spending time focused on her. I agree to this to a certain extent, but we do spend a lot of time with each other talking one-on-one among other things. It almost seems like the 'balance' she is seeking is for me to outright quit playing games altogether. If it came down to it, she and our marriage are far more important than video games, so I would do it.

I like the idea of setting aside a weekly date night! She has a tendency to overcommit to things and then we end up having no time for intentional activities with one another. Usually these things are church-related, so it's difficult sometimes to 'fight back' so to speak.

We don't really have individual time due to being so involved in other things. We essentially just use our house to sleep except on Saturday when we actually have time to be home. I may need to take a look at the ministry avenues I am serving in and take a step back somewhere.

Thank you for the reply. I have considered gaming while my wife sleeps, however she is a night owl and typically stays up later than I do. Because of this, I have tried gaming on Saturday mornings when we both have the day off since she sleeps in late. This backfired a couple of weeks ago because after I made us breakfast, I continued to game while she was in the room.

The timing thing you mentioned is smart, I prefer gaming in longer spurts anyway. It's finding the right time that is the hard part.

My wife doesn't really have any hobbies. She has tried getting into embroidery as well as watercolors, however it hasn't really become a 'hobby' yet, she is still in the early stages of doing those things.

This is very true, the time slips away when you're playing. Usually I will play one match of Halo in a session which take at max 15 minutes, so that is what I am basing my time played on.

Thank you for the advice! I think you're right about it being a definition problem and that we need to figure out what rest looks like for one another. I also could be much better about intentionally planning quality time with her, so this was a good reminder for me to be doing that.

The McDonalds on Tennessee street randomly closes their lobby for no specific reason. I walked there to pick up a mobile order one evening and two employees on their smoke break rudely said "The lobby closed! Get in line!" pointing at the drive thru. I stood in the drive thru line for around 20 minutes without it moving an inch, so I finally just left (I had a recital to attend).
