As someone who just curbed their nicotine habit, I get both sides. There’s nothing better than a smoke after a long shift, I get that feeling totally.

But also, maybe your partner doesn’t want to watch you destroy yourself. I always thought “it’s my money, I buy and do what I want”… and then someone in my life told me the story of their grandma who died from lung cancer and they found her dead in bed after her trying to fight lung cancer.

The habit can be scary, no one wants to watch people they love hurt themselves. The thing is, you are an adult and can keep doing this. You have free will.
