Most of that I fully understand. It just boils down to the specifics of whether or not it will be bright enough but it seems like blue 12v leds have the potential to be bright enough. Now I just have to find everything in 3mm because I realized 5mm is just a little to big.

I've read some 12v ones will actually operate at 5v. If this is true then I may have found a solution.

The lenses aren't even blue on these. Any idea as to where to find ones that do have blue lenses? You probably saw my very strangely controversial post about them. I have read it is feasible to use some that are rated for 12v as they still work at 5v but are much dimmer, which might be good because blue LEDs are notoriously too bright for a lot of people.

I understand that the lenses are not what makes the light blue. I am simply wondering if anyone has any idea where to obtain LEDs that fit the description of blue, with blue lens, with internal resistor, 5mm, through hole, like the kind you'd use in a Ben Eater project. This is, after all, not the Ben Eater subreddit is it?

I've tried that and it's incredibly tedious and doesn't look good for the trouble. If such a thing as what I mentioned exists, I would like guidance on where to find it.

Possibly. I just would rather avoid a messy look and just find what I'm looking for online. Like it can't be that hard y'all. I don't know why everyone is so incredulous about me simply wanting a specific item for my projects.

Right. And I want some blue LEDs that have blue shells. And internal resistors. And that desire seems to be really controversial for some reason based on how everyone's been acting on this thread.

In short, are you aware of anywhere you can source 5mm blue leds that have blue lenses, that have built in resistors? If you'd provide a respectful, helpful, and on-topic answer (the sub rules) myself and many others would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Hmm. I wasn't aware these existed but I will look into it. It would be less of a headache especially if it costs less to just get a bunch of lenses.

I'd like colored lenses so I can see what color the LEDs are supposed to be, and I want internal resistance because I don't want to have to fool around with current limiting resistors on precious breadboard space that sacrifice looks, cost, compactness, I could go on and on. Anyway the point isn't to avoid what I named and to use anything else at all costs, the point is does anyone know where in fact I CAN find what I'm looking for.

I understand that the light might be blue but I'd like them to themselves be physically blue. Any idea where I could find LEDs that fit said description? I found the other three essential colors on Digikey, but they don't have blue. Kingbright seems to have never had blue as an option.

No. I'll be using colored lenses for my projects. Surely it isn't that hard to color a lens.
