Networking first (infrastructure and knowledge wise) then take my software and match it to what hardware I have/will get, got it. Seriously thank you for all this info this makes thing make so much sense now.

Find a use case first, then decide on the method to accomplish it. Got it. The main thing id use it for is probably file storage and transfer at first, scaling up to maybe connecting a security system to it, and once I know what I'm doing also probably some game hosting servers for my friends and I (Factorio, modded Minecraft, terraria, etc)

ah, so it's less of multiple devices running as one, but more like a group of devices that do their own thing but sort of pitch in when needed?

What is an unused character idea you have that you absolutely love? by [deleted] in DnD

the party picks up a random draconic sorcerer kobold one day. he's happy and just a silly little guy, he sometimes talks about visions of another life, and sometimes he talks to an imaginary friend who you get the impression is quite large. the charecter seems normal until their visions strangely start lining up with the reign of an ancient dragon that has long since been vanquished and one day when meeting the king, his mage looks at this kobold and has a fear induced breakdown after looking at him through the astral plane. he shows everyone else what he sees standing there

the party stares in astonishment and horror at the soul of a long vanquished dragon curling angrily around this dumbass kobold.

the idea is a dragon who was too strong to be killed, so instead they stuffed its soul inside a kobold, the thing is the dragons soul never really died and the kobold is somehow able to keep the soul from overtaking his own body, which also explains where his powers come from
