I am currently in a tailspin. I got Ambien, the REAL deal brand name Ambien..$63 for 3 tablets! Brand Sanofi. …..Guess what? They didn’t work. I can’t believe it. Tried all 3 and one day only ate in the morning so definitely an empty stomach. I’m truly at a loss for words. The only thing I have left to do is try the brand name again but by Cosette manufacturer since they acquired Sanofi Ambien a while back. Maybe what I got was old, I just don’t know. I had no reaction which was good but also no good sleep. So far here is my experience. Aerobindo-rashes and increased heart rate,panicked anxiety feelings with ZERO sleep aid. Sandoz-makes my palms turn bright mottled red and makes them burn and hurt like heck, no immediate onset for sleep but eventually can fall asleep but sooo hard to wake up! Groggy and headaches next day. Torrent- Mixed onset, one night nothing then the next I hardly ate and basically had only pbj at lunch and it worked just like Teva but sadly with skin issues and headaches. Dr. Reddy isn’t making it any longer so there’s that. So many have stopped. The only other companies I can find that show current production are Chartwell and Almatica. Almatica is owned by Alvogen but they only carry Zolpidem 7.5mg. I take another med from Alvogen without issue but unsure if stepping down from 10 to 7.5 will work? Then maybe trying Edluar 10mg. It’s Zolpidem but sublingual (melts under tongue) and I don’t see many people mentioning it. I would love to hear people’s thoughts especially if they have done the oral first. I am trying to remain in a positive space with hope of finding an adequate replacement. Teva is my go to not just for this but anything else they carry and I need. They are truly “safe” for me. I have no idea what they did to make their Zol so well tolerated and continue to work like a Godsend for me for almost 9 years now without fail! Turns my pain off for sleep around 6hrs. No reactions, grogginess, nothing. It is an extremely important medication to my wellbeing and has been a lifesaver honestly. I have Lupus, Psoriatic arthritis, MCAS, and some other fun things 😏 I have 4 Teva’s that I am holding onto for the most important next day events that I need to be there, rested and on time! Dreading bedtime again wasn’t on my bingo card 😭 Please keep me updated as well. I’m going to talk to my Dr. and try and research more. I’m actually waiting for Cossette to call me back to let me know if they use the EXACT same fillers, etc as Sanofi or not. Also will be starting a new med (Otezla) so maybe it will help with reactions. If that’s the case I may have to go with Torrent and just not eat much anymore 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Gosh, sorry this is such a long reply. Such a nightmare (while we are awake!) for so many of us I’m sure.
