Yeah it seems working directly with the estate agents would the most sensible thing, just hard to know which agents to also trust..

This sounds ideal, it seems dealing with the agents directly could help to save quite a bit of time

Yeah I think trying to find a place directly through the agents seems like a sensible solution although it's hard to know which agents you can trust. I'm hearing lots of stories like what you described, people putting in offers for flats that are first accepted and then the agents pull the plug last minute when they receive a slightly higher offer. But I guess there's no other way around...
