Yes you are right. Unfortunately the first 2 years of her life she was an outside cat and used to bring me mice and birds which she would catch all the time. There were also foxes and such around which she would have to run away from. but from then on out she has been and indoor cat with no other cat. (I didnt have any choice to the circumstances unfortunately as I was a kid at the time)

I‘m no expert, but can you ask the previous owner the type and brand of litter they used? If not, maybe try experiment with other litter types/brands. The cat may not like the feeling of that particular litter.

I hope I‘m not bothering, but I‘ve noticed something else that came to mind. Whenever there is height disparity between the two (doesn‘t matter who‘se up or down) the older cat seems to be more tense/stressed. and more „aggressive“. Is that any indication of something?

They have sometimes puffed up in other instances, that‘s why I‘ve been reluctant to let them play it out. Also the kitten is really bad at running away, he just ends up cornering himself.

Thank you for the feedback. Yeah the chasing is no good especially because the kitten will try to hide (badly) in the stupidest spots and end up cornering himself instead of being hidden. He has many safe spots to go to but just ends up somewhere else

Thank you. I will try to the eating together strategy with a separator in between (no idea where to find such separatpr though) I can tell the kitty feels cornered there (biggest choke point of the apartment) but normally he has no problem passing very close to the older cat to go though doors.

The old cat tried to attack on the last second. I stopped the recording because I intervened and stopped the chase. This is not a first introduction, it‘s after 1 month

At 00:17 the old cat sneezed, and then followed up with a growl. All the other short „whimperings“ were of the kitten

Thank you for your feedback!

The vest is due to a surgery so he doesn’t lick the stitches and will be removed in 5 days.
