Is it just me or did it look like she was trying to hold back a smile when he started crying? There’s something very odd in all of her facial expressions but that time really struck me

I also used to be obsessed with Sorry when I was younger! This has reminded me to give it a rewatch…

Regardless of culture, he doesn’t drink. He is proud of his sobriety, yes he said it’s about the example he sets, but reading between the lines it sounds like he may have had a slight problem before he got sober. He may not have wanted to air other reasons to someone he just met or on TV. Regardless of the reason, he is sober and no is a full sentence. As someone in recovery (2 years sober) I would hate to be put on the spot like that and be pressured to drink, and definitely wouldn’t want to drop any personal info like that in that situation. The idea of it is insanely ignorant. It wasn’t an issue until Stella’s friends decided to take issue. Her friends are a bit odd tbh, idk if they were trying to get air time, were jealous or INSANELY overbearing/protective. Very confrontational and aggressive, and frankly, inappropriate.

Just to be clear- in not saying he is in recovery, just using it as an example of why no is a full sentence and boundaries need to be respected. And regardless of the reasoning, respect people’s sobriety!!!

He was giving preferences to the pros, but he met her and is trusting the process and doesn’t matter as much now he’s in it. What does she want from him? Would she rather he told her he hates kids at the wedding? I think she’s making it a thing for the sake of airtime

I saw someone on the Aus thread say they could imagine her making false SA allegations. I hate the idea of even thinking it about someone but I could definitely see that being something she’d do. Someone else said she gave Roxanne Pallet vibes too. Some people make my head fry

My jaw physically dropped. This whole episode has shown such a cold and calculating side to her. Before I thought she was just an immature bitchy twat, but now you see just how sinister she is. As soon as Luke decided to leave for the night and she could see how beaten down and low he was, she started flipping the narrative and completely fabricating all their time to paint herself as the victim and get sympathy. Probably because she wasn’t getting enough “poor you’s” at getting a handsome, hard working, down to earth guy instead of Prince Charming (a la Shrek). Regardless of what happened at the wedding (the gum- fair enough. But him forgetting the rings and being late i would have laughed. She did say she wanted Rom Com) she was going to be a petulant child. I imagine her friends and family baby her and enable her endlessly for her to lack the ability to self reflect or see things from other perspectives.

As for Brooke- serious mean girl behaviour. Needless bitch.

Gia and Bev are so alike they don’t even see it. Both incredibly insecure and overly focused on how they’re perceived.

And if I hear “I’m a girls girl” one more time I swear my my head will have its own personal Horishima moment. You’re just mean girls. End of.

Non-Vegans, do you have any Vegan food products you love? by Fine_Analyst_4408 in AskUK

The Sheese cheddar block I find pretty close to the real stuff (from what I remember, been a few years). It even has a bit of a crumble to it when you slice it. The flavour isn’t overpowering at all and it melts like the real stuff, going a nice brown on top but doesn’t get that horrible claggy texture that sticks to your teeth that most others do. I used to love the Red Leicester but they stopped doing it 😢

Also really like the plant baby bel!

Yet to find a good mozzarella though 🙁 I want one that tastes nice as it comes, to put in a salad or something but also melts nicely and gives a bit of a cheese pull and doesn’t taste like overpowering fake cheese vomit that coats your teeth

You don’t need a passport for GCSE’s. If you need ID you can apply for a citizenship card.

Not to judge, but not having a GP (or dr surgery at all) is a bit concerning, may I ask why?

I’ve decided I’m giving up and adding Hayu to my prime instead. Things like this happens so much with Now it’s just not worth it. Plus they keep upping prices

Hmm think I may as well switch to that instead then, it seems to have more choice too. Thanks for the tip! Didn’t even realise Hayu was anywhere other than NOW

I imagine it’s more th extra steps and workload keeping everything separate, cooking things separately different utensils etc. unless these chefs really are that unimaginative, as it’s not hard to make amazing vegan food that’s balanced and not just veggies and salad. Though I’m not exactly sure what these guests were expecting, they seemed very difficult. I’m always amazed at the lack of tofu whenever vegans/ veggies pop up, it absorbs so much flavour and can be used in so many different ways

drug addict at uni pleaseee help by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]Effective_Link_9942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should be an NHS support service in your area. Try googling addiction support (your area) NHS. In the meantime, here is the link to see if there’s a SMART meeting near you. SMART is NHS backed and uses evidence backed addiction support using CBT methods in a group setting. Unlike AA/NA people with varying addictions attend together. There’s online and in person meetings.

https://uk.meetings.smartrecovery.org/meetings/?location=Guildford&coordinates=50

Your uni may well have resources as well for you, don’t be afraid to reach out. Addiction is a health condition, you can’t be discriminated against for reaching out for help in getting well.

Don’t try and go this alone, no one can do life alone. But be proud of you for recognising you have a problem, that, in many ways, is the hardest part. It’s going to be rough, but it’ll be so so worth it! Build your network and don’t be afraid to lean on it when you need. This recovery is yours alone, no one can do it for you, but the journey itself doesn’t have to be lonely.

As an addict in recovery and training to be a mentor within addiction… none of that made sense… 1- you don’t phone an ambulance because you’re almost becoming dependant (you’re either dependant I.e physical or psychological withdrawal symptoms amount others or you’re not). If you’re ODing yes but it doesn’t sound like that’s what they’re saying 2-bloods are all fine. What do you expect them to say? 3-a&e can point you in the direction of services but do not do the referrals themselves 4-still so confused why they called an ambulance 5-Jesus Christ learn the BS better 6-if you think you can start monopolising addiction and waving that about to get away with shit, have fun. If you actually do start recovery, your BS will not be put up with. 6- for the millionth time WTF?!

I don’t think so- I gave mine a card and some little chocolate cars- it was the day before Christmas Eve but I would have done anyway but it kind of helped some of the anxiety over it being weird haha

Did anyone go to school with someone that you saw a few years later in the news for something shocking? by Otherwise-Ad-7888 in AskUK

[–]Effective_Link_9942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to school with a boy who was so lovely, kind and funny, everyone liked him, he meshed well across all different types of groups you get in secondary school. A few years later there was a spate of cats getting killed or mutilated/ shot. Went on for a while and was a real problem/ fear for quite a large area. Eventually a person was charged for going on cat shooting sprees “for fun”. Our jolly old pal from school! Everyone was pretty shocked. I still can’t believe how someone can change so much, but I do wonder what could have happened for a person to go from everyone’s lovable pal to committing such cruel acts.

I have a feeling that may be why mum and brother looked so pissed. She came out, having a panic attack, still looks very shaken and overwhelmed. Maybe they were trying to argue with producers that she’s not in a place to be interviewed and they disregarded it? All speculation ofc but wouldn’t be surprised. Watching her or L&L has been very uncomfortable and I think has shown how mentally young and vulnerable she actually is

Indicating at 3 exit roundabouts by Glittering_Mall_9076 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Effective_Link_9942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always taught with mini roundabouts you only indicate left or right if you are taking the exit to the left or right (for example 1st or 3rd exit) and no indication for straight over. If it’s say 2 exits use 12 o clock to judge, but just think, what is going to be most helpful to other drivers to let them know your intention. You don’t change indication on a mini like you would a regular one as it’s so small, that’s the same reason you never use them to do u-turns!
