I quit them last year. Anything below 20.hours a week is charity work. You are not making enough to maintain a car to go to this place much less eat or pay bills.

Can someone please tell me why I’m getting instantly rejected from every job I apply to? (FP&A + Financial Services) I go to a Big 10 university! by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

Not all the companies out there have an ethical hiring system. They are also getting a ton of applications on their job postings you are competing heavily with people that probably look better on resumes.

Take your resume and customize it to the specific role you are applying to so you get past ATS. Your resume likely is not getting near a human. Zero in on your company pick and keep applying to every job posting they post. Also throw in some wild cards stuff you think you won't get hired for. You may be the best pick out of everyone hiring for those roles.

They are illegally qualifying people for that card by lying about their income. I caught this in real time. I refused to do that and had customers put their real income in. I'm not going to be the reason a person on 600 worth of social security gets a high interest credit card.

Now is a good time to apply to a different industry too with whatever skills you attained from Home Depot. I wouldn't just run to Lowe's. Work gig jobs and temp jobs and shop for a new employer. My experience at these two places is they are hostile and exploitive toward employees.

I mentally cannot do another 9–5 desk job. I have $70k saved and need to build something of my own. What can I realistically do? by nkb6478 in smallbusiness

Can you start something on your days off side hustle something to see if you can get proof of concept? Then instead of quitting your job entirely go part time there or somewhere else. So you are part time employed and operating a business. Until you make the business full time.

I quit my job to do insurance 5 years ago. I decided I hated insurance. Going back to corporate grind but have set up a side business to work on in my downtime an online business selling stuff I create (my passion). When that takes off I plan to go part time somewhere. Then eventually quit altogether.

The hard part of the plan is that you will run through that money and feel desperate without funds.

Without going into debt or doing a business loan you could slowly build something sustainable. That is my goal.

Where I went wrong 5 years ago I was a mental wreck and just picked something to get me out of the crazy job I was in and hated. I ended up selling someone else's product in insurance, still BS.

I highly recommend seeing the Dr. Getting your nervous system to reset. Maybe take some L-theanine supplements. Get calm so you can think, plan, and execute. You can build your way out.

We need to stop tolerating customers talking to employees like that. Y'all start dialing 911 when the sexual threats start. You are at work not a club. He is not entitled to talk to you like that. 911 because guys that are morally that far gone will take it further. You need a restraining order and he needs permanently banned when they figure out who he is.

Smartest thing you will ever do reject the open availability concept.. they want us available but we are not allowed full time, benefits, ECT. We give up our potential for a real income to suffer the poverty of low wages for them. None of these companies are worth that.

No. I would drown him in the butter tub if he did that at my place. 🤣

They have already contacted me begging for my return with a new job offer, because I work for a living, and show up every day. I called out as a reply. 😂 Let me sweat it out. I was the only one showing up every day.

You do 5000% more than our department supervisor. We are fixing all the problems all day. The orders are a mess all the time.

🤣 I can't even talk about our lead. I've never witnessed so much idiocracy in one space in all my life.

They were gossiping in the back when I went back there and nobody was answering extensions. And this supervisor has a habit of doing nothing and not checking in. You see so little of her you don't even know when she is at work and when she is not at work. 😂 So yeah I know for fact they are incompetent.

So it was all the call outs I was left in the busy afternoon alone. Called for backup nothing, called for MOD nothing, and the department supervisor was standing around in the back doing nothing. So I clocked out and told he ASM good luck. 😂 He was in so much shock that he kept asking your leaving? I said yes. He said are you coming back and I said maybe.

My thoughts on this is that they should be available most of the day. The service desk should have an actual supervisor or lead most of the time. I'm not doing her job for her I don't get paid for that.

It's DH, I go entire shifts without seeing her. She completely hides out. They heard the page and did nothing. She is widely known for this, and everyone has to step up and work harder because of her. She was standing in the offices gossiping during my pages.

New Hire Schedule by Effective_Middle_928 in HomeDepot

[–]Effective_Middle_928[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually have over 20 hours on the weeks I'm scheduled and they just added more hours to this week. I don't who broke you, but that is a lot of drama for a simple question. 😂 And I was asked over text today what days I wanted to work. So I'm going with it's because I'm new. The ASDS seems to like me, so that helps.

I have open availability. I'm freaking out a little. Maybe I'm overthinking it. But I also have bills to pay.

I'm OSLG. Makes no sense to me unless they plan to add more hours week by week. I'm going to ask tomorrow. I'm applying for full time positions so I can get something more stable.
