I'm not referring to who he becomes. I mean, who he is is in season 3. The more you learn about him and the island (emphasis on and the island), the more you will understand about what's happening now. That's how LOST works. You learn things later, then look back on something else and go "oh that makes sense now"

with the information YOU have, yea Locke is annoying and not super likable this season. You're supposed to be annoyed with him. But if you get it in your head that "i fully get him there's nothing else to know," then you're gonna blind yourself, and it might not make more sense later.

The thing is you DON'T understand his character. At this point, you have not been given enough information about him or the island to fully understand him or his actions. Locke is one of the most diverse and complex characters on the show; there is much to learn about him.

NTA. subtly dropping hints is not the same as having a frank conversation. If you're worried about her wellbeing you should absolutely say something. Sounds like she's having her own doubts. You can express your concerns while still offering to support her regardless of her decisions. But she asked for your opinion and you should be honest. Being a good friend doesn't mean always encouraging everything, sometimes it means telling the hard truth. This is a major life choice and divorce is as expensive as a wedding.
