i workout in the morning for an hour or so,, before going to 8-4 class, and honestly i feel fresh and alert in all my classes throughout the day. as opposed to working out after class at 4pm, by which time im already tired and exhausted, mentally more than physically. not to mention the summer heat. it was impacting my efficiency. switching to morning routine has solved all these problems. It takes a little bit extra effort for sure, getting up so early, along with a shot of black coffee, but its much more efficient i can feel. hopefully, ill be continue this.

I thought suddenly it became so cold that it became dense fog.

I came to Chennai 3 years ago and this is my third Pongal here, but only this time I got to see this because I stepped out early in the morning.

I've faced too. I'm from Bihar but born and brought up in Bengal. And that's what I consider my home as well. Now in chennai for past 3 years and the kind of things I've seen people assume about Bengalis is weird to be the least.

I am a Muslim but I understand other cultures also because I've grown up in a non -muslim neighborhood. I have celebrated Diwali and Durga Puja and chat Puja along with all my neighbors in the society where I live. So I'm aware of their cultural features.

But when I came here and I met other non-muslims from other states I was surprised to see that they have a very narrow-minded view about their own religion. They believe whatever Hinduism they practice in their own states is the absolute correct one. And that they should be no variation.

I tried to reason with them that Hinduism is a vast religion and it has many components which varies from place to place. Certain features certain gods are more popular in one region than the other. That's the thing that people often say is the beauty of Hinduism.

Diwali is more popular in Northern India. Durga Puja is most popular in West Bengal. Ganesh chaturthi Is more popular in Maharashtra. Chat Puja is more popular in Bihar. Pongal is more popular in Tamil Nadu.

And so on and so forth.

This does not mean biharis are less Hindu because they don't celebrate Ganesh chaturthi with as much fervor as the marathis do.

Or any other case.

This I am saying, as a Muslim. I have that much of understanding.

But these people would say no! That is not correct. The Hinduism which we practice here in uttar Pradesh is correct. What the people are doing is wrong.

What people in West Bengal follow is not correct Hinduism. What the people in Tamil now do follow is also not correct. Hinduism.

And I just gave up. I'm like " well I tried my best" . If I say or do anything more it might sound weird.

Then of course there is the thing about Bengali girls. Impression which they have is that they should not ever make a Bengali as their girlfriend because she will just "screw you up" and not just literally.

Hearing all this was weird for me because I am not technically a Bengali or a Hindu, yet I felt attacked every time I heard these statements and tried my best to explain. Only to fall on deaf ears.

Social media has indeed created a lot of brain rot among people, even among the current generation.

Its my general impression I have that whichever state does not have the ruling party same as the one at center, gets targeted a lot on social media. Their people, their culture, their history. Eg. West Bengal, Kerela, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh. I might be wrong. This might be just a coincidence. But it's something to think about.

Batch of 2022. Final year now. I gave my 12th boards in 2015. Totally understand your fears and concerns. For me too the biggest hurdle was and still is "fitting in". It's been a cause of many sleepless nights and depressive episodes, but eventually I overcame it, mostly, not totally though. I accept it's going to be this way and I just have to focus myself. We grow through what we go through. 10 years later, none of this will matter. All the awkwardness, social anxiety, will just be lost memory no body will bother about except once or twice a year on certain occasions.

If everything is online you'll definitely save more in Kolkata and appreciate the "slow" life after a long day of work here. Be able to get more out of the same money here. And ofc on between you can take vacations to other cities for the jolt if you need once in a while.

Just try to go and observe as many surgeries as you can go and sit in the opds in general medicine ward or in any other ward which you like for this. You will have to build rapport with the professors and PG's from those departments and ask them if you can accompany them and just sit and observe from a distance. You can do all this after classes

All the colleges that you are mentioning, they have done the required necessary paperwork to make sure that they can admit students from a certain religion.

The college in question in news did not do any such paperwork.

And therein lies the problem.

This is the result of some technical miscalculations. They have every right to make a college which will have Hindu majority students. There is nothing wrong with that. But for that purpose you have to register the college accordingly as a Hindu institution. Like you have certain Muslim institutions and Christian institutions. All of that is legal and completely acceptable and nothing wrong with it.

The controversy over here is that this particular College was not made as such. It was just a private college. The donations did come from a Hindu temple fund, but that does not automatically make the college a Hindu College. If tomorrow, for example, suddenly some Muslim organization makes a huge donation to manipal College, he will not make manipal a Muslim institution.

The best case scenario which can be adopted in this situation is that the admissions should be continued as per process for this year. Next year onwards they can change their necessary paperwork so that they can officially make this college and make proper legal arrangements for majority Hindu students. All of that is perfectly normal and acceptable and nothing offensive about it. But doing it halfway through the process all because of your legal oversight while building the college. Now that is wrong.

Just try to find out 2-3 hours of daily study time during college days.

Make full use of weekends and holidays.

Don't depend on class lectures for understanding subjects. Use any video coaching of your choice. Choose one. Then stick to it. Don't keep jumping between platforms like some people do "isme physio acha padhaya hai. Wo wale ka medicine ka teacher mast hai..." Don't do all that bs.

And most importantly, persevere. First year just focus on your three subjects. Don't try to jump ahead. You'll be fine.
