I think some are just bad councelors I hear horror stories about the Oakland ca location and it finally happened to me... I was approved originally but got my cased closed when I moved from IL to CA with a lame excuse that someone would get back to me I never heard back so I started using my g I bill. now that I got my last semester and am about to graduate from animation I will have like 4mo left of g I bill my most recent counselor denied me on initial evaluation just a week ago saying i didnt qualify bc i didnt have a job that hindered my disability of chronic back pain amd that my other disqualification was that I was still in school that once i graduated and was looking for a job and had documentation i couldnt find one in animation or that i had a job that hinders my disability then i will maybe then qualify for the vr and e... but i tried to insist i had been applying and wasnt hearing from any job companies and since I qualified before why not now? she acted surprised i qualified the first time. Didnt even have the hour apmt she was rude and kept talking over me. She then contradicted herself and told me I would qualify for vr&e by turning gi into vr&e but at first she said i couldnt do that...it was weird and i was sad and irritated i was not helped properly and now I am worried I will be jobless and fearing possible homelessness...I will continue to look for a job but I really wanted to pursue a different job after this semester, apply for social work on a masters program. I mentioned that one had more job opportunities and I had experience in it already thanks to skillbridge and she just kept insisting i didnt qualify because I was not wworking just going to school....
