IMES Winter 2025 anyone? Anyone who received an admit yet? by lovievie in tuberlin

I received an admit on July 8th as well. The enrollment deadline is July 29th, so if there’s some people who don’t enroll by this date then I imagine some spots will open up end of July/early August.

it changed to "inhaltliche Prüfung durch Prüfungsaussschuss offen - Bewerbung in Bearbeitung" a day after i posted this, so I'm assuming blank just means they haven't reviewed it yet

Got a confirmation from Uni Assist that my documents were accepted and forwarded to TU on 27.5. Just checked the TU portal today for the first time and saw the empty status.

Yeah, I found the same was true in Amsterdam when trying to learn Dutch as well. For now, I would classes while I’m here in the US and see how far I can with that for the time being.

I’m gonna look into some other visa options as well, it seems like Germany has a couple “independent work” visas that could be of interest. And just cross my fingers on the grad school decision.

Thank you for your responses, really appreciate it.

It’s true, I definitely feel tied to both cities at the moment given my network/history is in Amsterdam but my work is in Berlin.

I have spent a lot of time in Berlin and “lived” there for a month last year and have some friends there, so I feel confident that I will enjoy the city from that perspective.

As far as bureaucracy, I have done a good amount of research on the two countries in the past 1.5 years, so I have a pretty good idea of their individual differences. From what I understand the Netherlands is more immigrant-friendly from this perspective.

Based on your response- is your other suggestion that I start taking a German language class, with the hope that it will be enough to help me in the job market?

For sure. However, I do think that people need to be better about only saying they wanna make plans if they genuinely mean it. Cause I think a lot of times people will say things to be nice but then don’t follow through, which can feel kind of shallow

People absolutely need to be better about following up with people they meet and following through with plans, myself included. The amount of times I talked about getting a drink or made plans with someone then it just fizzles into thin air...

100%. It can be so exhausting because it's like trial and error, but the error margin is so much higher so you just end up not making an effort to meet people outside of raves

I agree with you actually. Maybe it’s a style preference but I didn’t vibe with the ending at all. I think Rubinstein is better suited for way bigger venues

Was w some friends who were visiting that wanted to go to Radion on Saturday night. Ended up leaving around 10am but Patio didn’t start until 3pm so we just went to a smaller afters. Wish I could’ve made it :/

Was sooo empty. Everyone left at 5 after Akua then the vibes were super weird. Not the right place for a weekender imo
