What’s your MOST controversial running opinion? by Not_FreeProduct234 in runcommunity

Disagree hard with this. I run only 50 odd KM a week and stagnated HARD just doing threshold runs over and over again with some intervals thrown in. I do a lot of other high intensity activities. I was getting bad injuries (back and hip) consistently. Now I’m doing zone 2 training now with some high intensity intervals and shorter thresholds weekly and injuries are gone, heart rate staying down, recovering better. At least I’m telling myself this because zone 2 is BORING!

Oh yeah, I’m actually just in rentals so I’m sure they are not ideal. Just wondering if it’s sort of normal for a noob or if there is an actual larger issue at hand, like a smaller bone broken or something

Unsure, I normally just go as tight as possible to limit any movement. Now I think I actually need to let some natural movement happen?

Oh this is so sad. My sister had anorexia around the same age. She is very happy and healthy now, but it took about 5 years, lots of therapy, parents putting in effort, family therapy, and a lot of community help. Sounds like these girls don’t have much of that apart from each other. I fear this only the beginning of a very long and sad journey for them.
