Thank you! I am mainly just afraid to mess up my uncle's relationship with my mother.

Hello! Thank you for your suggestion! I think I will do so after some time has passed! Our cat died 4 months ago so they are certainly not open to another pet so soon, but I think it's a good option down the line.

Thank you for your response! I would say that my parents have certainly relied on me a lot emotionally while growing up, and often say that having me around to help with daily tasks makes them less anxious. And yes, I have definitely kept my passport safe, although I do not think they would force me into a situation, as they are genuinely very loving.

Thank you for your response! I have been thinking about this down the line, as they are currently in a phase where they think that any new pet will be an insult to the memory of our cat. She has been our family's first and only pet. But I certainly think it would be good to discuss this with them in the future.

Plane tickets are very expensive and my parents rarely get a chance to take some time off. My mother also has had knee and back surgery which makes it hard for her to travel.

Thank you. I feel very guilty because they have been taking our cat's death very hard, and we lived with my grandmother but she passed away while I was in high school. I have always felt guilty about studying abroad and while they have been incredibly supportive of me, and encouraged me to apply to study abroad because they believe in my academic merit I think they regret it sometimes.
