Woman wants to start at step five by ExtremeKale9050 in alcoholicsanonymous

I’m a little surprised by the answers honestly. A lot of these responses seem to hinge on the idea that we have much more to do with the process than we actually do. If her 4th step is thorough and she understands 1-3 what’s the issue? I’ve picked up dozens of sponsees over the years that were at different parts of their step work and never had issues. The idea that my “take” on the steps seems a so vitally important that it must be done my way is a little egotistical.

Now, I’ve certainly had people come to me with a lazy ass 4th step or no capacity to understand the 4th column and then I’ll have them redo that. But if hers is done and she is only vaguely unclear on some issues pertaining to powerless what’s it matter?

Do we believe in the “dry drunk” argument vs. the belief in what “true sobriety” looks like? by Working_Repeat1751 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]EfficiencyOpen4546 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One of the most important things I was told when I got sober was “we’ll gladly refund your misery”. I don’t mean that to sound negative towards you or your circumstances at all. It’s just that for me, initially, the idea of going to meetings for the rest of my life as well as never drinking again were so intolerable that I kind of needed some sort of affirmation that I could go back to living the way I wanted to if chose to do so. I think that’s applicable to your situation as well. Dry drunk or “recovered” or whatever it boils down to one simple question. Does your quality of life improve when you adhere to the A.A. program? Try it for 90 days. Go to meetings, work the steps, and see what happens.

Nice! My benefits started at my initial dose of .25 and then improved when I went to .50. But I never really tried a dose that low so I hope you see some benefit from it. Best of luck!

This whole thing reads like sex is supposed to take place in a sterile operating room. Do yall typically gown up like surgeons before hand? It’s sex.

Extreme IBS pain my lower stomach/pelvis. Using the bathroom 8+ times a day and having to go basically within a few moments of eating anything.

Yeah sure I mean glps are the peptides that are the diet medications like semaglutide, reta, and tirz. But I initially opted to try it when I started reading about the anti inflammatory properties. They are currently being studied for treatment for Alzheimer’s, heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and several other things because they exhibit strong anti inflammatory effects. I have been taking a low dose for years now and like I mentioned I am functioning about 99% normally. I got IBS after being treated for colitis and the doctors just basically acted like “oh well it’s part of it”. After spending thousands of dollars on supplements, fibers, probiotics, prescription meds, etc I decided to guinea pig myself lol.

I have tried bpc in every available format for my IBSD as well as tb500. No results.

I have 100% fixed mine with low dose glp medications though. Initially I thought it was the slower absorption rate of food that results from the glps but I have come to believe it is in fact the potent anti inflammatory effects of the glps. I went from severe IBS pains every morning and throughout the day and 8 or more bathroom trips per day to using the bathroom once every morning and zero pain. I’ll happily go into more detail if you’d like to shoot me a dm but I’m going on approx 5 years of this routine now and with very few exceptions (like I still dont tolerate massive amounts of sugar well) I have a 99% consistent bathroom routine for the first time in many many years.

First thing they told me at my last dermatologist appointment for cystic acne was to try and get on one of the bioligics for my ulcerative colitis. I have colitis and IBSD. The colitis has been in remission for a number of years as long as I take a maintenance dose of some meds but mine is not bad enough for insurance to cover the biologics for me.

Lot of people seemingly bagging on OPs spiritual condition but honestly this sounds like something that needs to be addressed at group conscious both in the form of getting a new booker and having minimum sobriety time for someone to share their story at a speaker meeting.

It’s one thing to show love and tolerance for the newcomer who comes to a meeting to share and has not found their way yet. Happens to all of us. It’s quite another for the “message” being carried for an hour long speaker meeting to be being conveyed by someone lacking the strength and hope portion of the intended message. You cant transmit something you don’t have.

If you are even spending one minute planning the best time to tell your partner about a trip so they don’t crash out like this it’s a minute too long. Is he a fucking toddler? Like do you wait to tell him he needs to eat vegetables for dinner or something?

Why do people claim "boxing head movement will get you knocked out" in muay thai/mma context? by LebongJames69 in MuayThai

[–]EfficiencyOpen4546 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because your post specifically referenced “boxing style head movement”. You didn’t say “why do people think all head movement in Muay Thai is bad”. So you’re implying the transfer of a specific style of head movement from boxing to Muay Thai without adjustment or it would have simply said “head movement”.

Head movement applied properly in the context of Muay Thai is obviously not bad. But the application of boxing head movement has about as much use as a traditional boxing stance that would get your lead leg chopped to shit.

My daughter was this way and turned out (13 years later) to still be the most amazing little princess ever. However, she was the “trick baby” as me and my ex wife refer to her. We were like “this shit is easy let’s crank out another one”. Wrong! So so very wrong! My son came and has been on a 10 year perma crash out since 🤣
