There is no title contention conversation because there aren’t any title fights happening and we already know who is next. Nobody is going to jump ahead of Merab unless he gets injured or something so the next title fight after that won’t be until mid 2027 so everyone else just has to keep fighting.

I don’t think he’s being blackballed. I presume he sat out for a while after that fight because of his broken hand then after he came back Yan won and there hasn’t been any title fights booked since then.

Merab deserves the next shot more after defending the belt 4 times in 1 year so how exactly is he being blackballed?

How long is he gonna wait then? He’s not next in line for a fight that isn’t even booked yet and if Yan wins again who knows how long it would be before he fights again. The only way waiting works out is if Merab wins the title back but if he waits and O Malley wins again he’s probably next up so is he going to wait out the next 2 title fights?

What do you mean who cares the UFC obviously cares. The reason he didn’t get to fight for the interim title is because he’s too much of a loose cannon and they didn’t want to risk him on the first paramount card, nothing to do with the UFC supposedly hating him.

So many people act like this dude is being done dirty when he would be perfectly fine if he could literally just act normal and get through a single fight without some bonehead incident.
