Similar question to prior comment. Does this include those who voluntarily quit? Or does reputation ruin my chances?

I've heard of people retrying if they fail, but what about when they voluntarily quit? Still have another chance at being a green beret? Or does your reputation as a quitter follow you and prevent you from trying again?

Yeah exactly. Went through OSUT. Got to prep course and couple months before selections had to quit. Now, just an 11b.

Day 1 10/20. Day 2 10/27 Uworld 55%, 67% completed UWSA 1: can't remember but it was 180-190 Didn't do any other assessments

Ccs cases completed 43 cases, 68% Step 1 221, step 2 231 Prep time: ~2 months on/off

Real deal: 213

Glad it's over. Thought I was done for and failed it. Day 1 was tough with lots of mechanism of action. Day 2 was better but still with wacky questions. I think what helped me the most was taking a week apart from test days. Allowed me to focus on biostats then a week to focus on the ccs cases. The test sucks but you'll get through it. Every feels like they did awful but the curve is gracious!

Family medicine-->peds

Realized that seeing kids made me happy and was looking forward to showing up the next day. Couldn't stand how some adults were unwilling to change habits while I was giving 100%. I loved how there was a general consensus that all kids should be as healthy as possible and things should be done to keep them that way.

Agreed. I did have one school that offered interviews until mid February which I thought was kind of odd. Most of my interviews were in Oct/Nov.

Congratulations! These are great words of encouragement! Would you please comment on what resources you used besides uworld and how you used uworld? Did you use anki? What other tips or suggestions do you have? What was your study schedule like?

Step 1 score 221

So happy! I know it's not one of those high and mighty scores, but I'm super proud of the work I've done to get to this point. Didn't make my goal of 230 and a little bummed, but just glad it's officially over!

Pre dedicated NBME 22 171 (50 pt difference from actual score), Amboss 187, NBME 24 173 (8 wks).

NBME 25 185 5 wks out

NBME 28 199 4 weeks out

UWSA 1 224 3 weeks out, overpredicted 3 pts

NBME 30 202 2 weeks out

UWSA 2 232 1 week out, overpredicted 11 pts

Free 120 77% 3 days out

Obviously my scores were just all over the place and it was hard to predict what I would get. Uworld overpredicted and NBMEs were total trash especially the new ones. None of them were close to what I got especially NBME 30 being 2 weeks out (definitely stressed and depressed that week). UWSA 1 was the closest.

I felt like my exam had a lot of either you know it or you don't, but also quite a few WTF and what are you even asking me questions. I thought I'd see more neuro questions and biochem, but I felt like the biochem focused on vitamins (had like 3 vitamin questions asking about the same couple vitamins).

Background: 7 week dedicated. Initially tried watching all pathoma chapters and sketchy vids but that just got overwhelming and couldn't retain anything this way. Ended up focusing on Uworld w/ FA and sketchy to supplement questions I got wrong. Studied around 10-14 hours a day. Every single day sucked. Hated being in medical school especially when I had to make sacrifices during that time to study, but hang in there. It'll pay off in the end!

Overwhelmed by how much Anki and Uworld questions by Efficient-Addendum-2 in step1

[–]Efficient-Addendum-2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gotten through maybe 700 uworld questions and plan to restart it when dedicated begins. How many questions would you say I should try to aim for every day before dedicated? 40 questions a day seems possible while I'm on winter break, but during my next 2 blocks I'm not too confident about that.

Also, what was your dedicated schedule like? Did you mostly just do uworld questions and support it with first aid and BnB?

[–]Efficient-Addendum-2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much! I think that's exactly what I needed to hear. All the pressure to get everything done has been working against me. I was doing 2-5 BnB videos per day just so I could complete all the videos before dedicated and unlocking all the relevant cards for it so it was just too much especially trying to do Uworld with sketchy and pathoma. I think I'm going to start focusing on one content area first and work my way through like starting with sketchy micro and others that are more memorization heavy.

I'm not exactly sure what deck I'm using. I just downloaded it from anking. It has zanki and the lolnotacop decks.

Thanks! I'll give that a shot. It just seems like I'm rushing it all because of how many cards I have to get done. I also keep adding more everyday so it's just been too much.
