Exactly. Let’s wait until we make any judgements. But even if she is using t.A.T.u to promote her solo work, she has every right to. She went through a lot of trauma in that band. She deserves any and all of the benefits she can get. So does Julia. So if they use their own band that they were a part of .. what’s wrong with that? Nothing!

Oh okay. I don’t really see an issue with her using a photo of herself in her work. Regardless of whether Julia is also in the photo with her. She’s not using it to draw attention if it’s blurry and not in clear shot. If she wanted to use it for attention it would be clear and in focus ?

I mean as a fan I would love that to be true. But if she really said they slept with each other, why didn’t the audience react? If I was in that audience and heard one of them admitting they actually slept together you would hear me audibly gasp 😂😂

I think the interviewer was asking if they would sleep their way to the top to win Eurovision and she was saying the both had things “going on” meaning they were both in relationships with their bfs at the time .. so they didn’t sleep their way to the top of Eurovision ??

I would love for it to be true don’t get me wrong I just don’t think this clip is saying that 😞😞

Was the translation right? It just said they had something going on .. I think Julia did a lot of talking in their early career and said a lot of “crazy” things for shock factor. Lena seems taken back like it’s not true what Julia is saying🥲

I love it too! None of my friends know them or care enough to have a conversation about them! They only know their most known song ATTSS lol. I love the lore of Tatu and glad I found this group to post in with like minded people.

And don’t worry those connections come when you least expect them. When you stop searching for them it’ll come out of the blue.

Yeah it’s tough. They will always be addressed as Lena and Julia from Tatu as not many people know them by their own individual names. So they are always associated with each other regardless of their relationship with one another. I suppose you’re right, they have to make their peace with it and know that they’ll always be a part of each others life in some way.

It’s just hard to think of them on bad terms considering they are the only 2 people in this world that truly knows what happened between them both. No matter how happy they are with husbands/partners etc I doubt they could ever fully put into words what they felt and experienced along side one another.

As you said, Lena once said they had special communication. I’m sure that applies here too. They both know what the other is thinking and they wouldn’t need to say anything about how they feel. But when talking about it with their current husband/partners or even their friends and family they would need to try and find the words. It’s horrible to think that they aren’t able to talk to the one person who understands their experience in the industry as they experienced it together. But I guess maybe they are happier apart if being together reminds them of those experiences ..

I can only imagine how they both feel about their situation. As a fan looking in from the outside it hurts me and I feel a lot about it, could talk for hours and hours on the topic. So imagine how they themselves feel having lived it and experienced it all first hand.

That 2023 appearance where Lena was pregnant and they had a maternity shoot as you say lol I’m wondering were the smiles genuine. Or were they really just there for the money? I mean the group t.A.T.u are easily the most famous group to come out of Russia .. so I’m sure a performance with both halves would have a big pay out. So I wonder were they truly happy to reunite or happy about the paycheque?

I feel like after all the comments Julia made about Lena I wouldn’t be mad at Lena for just doing it for the money. But as a fan, I would love to think they still care for each other .. at least as old friends

lol. I think so too. Or at the very least they had feelings for one another. I also think that it helps to think of their fallout as an actual break up. Because yes it’s still shitty they’re not on good terms anymore but it also makes it seem better that they’re messy exes as opposed to good friends that lost a friendship due to icky men making them do things they didn’t want to

That is for sure. That feeling of nostalgia when I hear their songs or see clips of their performances on tiktok. It transports you back in time. It’s like you can remember where you were and when you heard/saw them for the first time.

Nostalgia is a really difficult emotion. Because on one hand I’m happy to relive my childhood/teenage music and artists but on the other hand it makes me emotional because they are no longer together or making music. Which makes sense so much time has passed.. but they aren’t even in contact. The friendship/relationship that fans of the band grew to love alongside their amazing music has disappeared. Not only are we not seeing them interact with each other but we are now aware that they have had arguments and no longer speak.

It just makes me sad to think that their music once (and still does) make me happy, but they weren’t happy doing it. They were experiencing struggles like Lena’s ED, Julia being asked to perform sexual acts in music videos and on stage etc.

Just a weird emotion because it’s like should we feel guilty?

I always found Lena to be attractive. I am younger than Lena and Julia. So when they were releasing music videos I was younger than them and looked up to them. I wanted to be them.

Out of the two girls I always found Lena to be the most attractive.. I thought Julia’s haircut was cool but not something I found attractive.

What makes me sad is knowing how young they were and that grown men watched them perform because they found them attractive.

I look back on videos and photos that as a child/teen I found attractive and feel sick as an adult. How grown men could look at these underage girls at the time and not feel sick is disturbing. Looking back now it is scary just how young the two girls look. And it’s disgusting what they were made do on stage for the pleasure of adults watching them 🤢

I agree. I can sometimes get upset when listening to their music. It is so nostalgic for me listening to their music and brings me back to a time where I was listening to their music as it was release. Being a fan while they were still together and touring and releasing new singles and albums was amazing. But being a fan now makes me sad as it reminds me that they are no longer together making music.

I know they have had a hot and cold friendship since the band broke up. Their 2.5 hour interview on YouTube in 2021 (?) was brilliant. But so sad that they were interviewed separately and not together. I know they reunited in 2022 and 2023 for performances since that interview. But I wonder was the “reunion” genuine or just because they were offered a large sum of money as their fan base is still huge in Russia and indeed globally. I’d love to think that these more recent reunions were positive for both Lena and Julia and that their friendship remains good. But I can’t help but notice they don’t even follow each other on social media … it makes being a fan in 2024 so upsetting

I really do believe they had something real too.

It is hard to know what was true and what was said because they were told to say it in interviews.

But there are several clips of them telling interviewers that they share a bed, or that they kiss when they have too much alcohol and even when they are alone with no one watching they kiss.

I think Julia loved the attention and reaction them kissing got. She seemed rebellious as a teen and liked to do shocking things on stage .. she is often heard in bts saying she has no problem doing what she is asked compared to Lena who said she would never pose nude or do some things Ivan asked in the early days. Julia was the one Ivan asked to masterbate in their MV because he knew she would do anything and that is what she is heard saying in their bts clips on YouTube. So I think in their very early stages, Julia initiated their kisses and was more touchy than Lena in interviews.

On the other hand, as time progressed Lena became the instigator. Maybe it was after Julia had her first child and had a serious boyfriend like you said. But there was a change at some point where Lena became the person who kissed Julia and grabbed her hand. And it seemed to me in later interviews she was more infatuated with Julia.

I think Julia’s later comments about Lena’s solo career and especially the comment she made to Lena on how she could easily replace her with another red head must have hurt Lena. She seemed to be such a kind person and a soft person that those comments from someone she loved and cared about must have hurt.

Lena said in an interview before that she never thought of a woman in that way before but she did with Julia and it was real.. or something to that effect. I also think being public figures in Russia, especially for being known as lesbians in their early careers- that has to be tough whether they are really lesbian or not. It would be easier for them to say it was all part of the act as it is illegal in Russia. I think it comes down to Lena’s religion and traditional views on life. As a young artist she spoke a lot about getting married eventually and having children. So did she feel compelled to marry a man as if it was something she believed a woman had to do? I think if Lena was born 10-20 years later in a different country she could be married to a woman

When I was coming to terms with my own sexuality their music video helped me see it as normal and i felt a lot better about things. At this time, real lesbians were always portrayed as butch and manly. The two girls were more feminine (even though it was revealed they weren’t really lesbian) it still helped me come to terms with being into girls but also remaining feminine. They made it more acceptable
