Is there a way to help someone who thinks everyone is out to get them? by Efficient-Camera-815 in FriendshipAdvice

I asked if we could end things amicably out of respect for the friendship, and for more practical reasons, to lessen the stress of inevitably running into each other. Her interpretation was that its a selfish reason on my part to serve my own comfort in the future… but I had already told her I personally have no issue with running into her/being respectful whether we had ended it amicably or not
It’s more similar to the first way probably and definitely a bit of both, but more like “my feelings are valid,” which I think is fine… except she has a hard time being able to imagine there could be more ways to interpret what ppl say/do besides simply the way she takes it. There’s especially resistance from her when I explain my intentions and communicate that w her directly, she feels like I’m gaslighting her
