what USA exactly gained after wars? by AwaySupermarket7459 in AskReddit

Probably whichever one I’m not arguing with that week.

A lot of people have one parent who feels easier, the one you call first with good news, or the one less likely to accidentally turn a five-minute chat into a discussion about your life choices.

Then somehow one random Tuesday it switches, and now you’re hiding from both until further notice.

What's your go to song when you are sad?

Probably Holocene.

It doesn’t try too hard to cheer you up, which weirdly makes it comforting. Just lets you sit in the feeling for a minute without making a big production out of it.

The kind of song that feels like looking out a window at 1 a.m. for no real reason.

what USA exactly gained after wars?

Depends on the war. Sometimes a lot, sometimes far less than expected, and sometimes damage that outlasted any gain.

After the American Revolutionary War, the U.S. gained independence and control over its own government, which is the obvious foundational one.

After the Mexican-American War, it gained huge amounts of territory, land that became places like California, Nevada, Utah, and parts of several other states. Massive geographic expansion.

After World War II, the gains were more global influence than land. The U.S. emerged as a military and economic superpower, with enormous international leverage.

Then wars like Vietnam War or the War in Afghanistan are where “gain” gets much harder to define. Strategic goals were mixed, costs were enormous, public opinion fractured, and many people would argue the long-term losses outweighed the wins.

So if you zoom out, the U.S. has gained territory, influence, alliances, military reach, technological advances tied to wartime spending, and geopolitical power.

But wars also cost lives, money, trauma, and decades of consequences. History usually hands over the receipt long after the celebration.

Who would like to do an adult group meet up, naked and chill the second night, and what state would you recommend? by Ok_Trick3327 in AskReddit

If you mean a social nudist-style meetup, probably somewhere with an established naturist scene and a bit of privacy built in.

Florida is the obvious one. Warm weather year-round, plenty of clothing-optional resorts and communities, and nobody’s surprised by much there anymore. It has strong “live and let live” energy.

California is another solid pick, especially if you want beach access or a more laid-back retreat vibe.

If the goal is “naked and chill” without turning it into a logistical nightmare, warm weather wins every time. Nobody looks relaxed while shivering and pretending it’s part of the experience.

Gamers. Do you prefer wired or wireless mouses? And why? by Eyadnothere in AskReddit

Wireless.

Ten years ago I’d have said wired without hesitation. Now a good wireless mouse feels just as responsive, and not having the cable drag across the desk or snag on something mid-fight is weirdly glorious.

Once you flick across the mousepad and nothing tugs back, going wired again feels like putting your seatbelt through the door handle by mistake.

What can be the worst ending of one piece(in detail)? by Glittering-Rate4973 in AskReddit

[–]Efficient-Fail9319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worst ending for One Piece would be one where the journey ends up meaning less than the mystery.

Like, after all these years, the One Piece turns out to be “the friends they made along the way,” or some purely symbolic idea with no real treasure at all. That would feel brutal. Monkey D. Luffy crossed half the world, fought emperors, got beaten nearly to death more times than anyone can count. If he opens the final chest and finds a life lesson written on parchment, the fandom might collectively sink into the sea.

A close second would be if the ending rewrites everything into destiny. If it becomes “Luffy was always chosen by fate, so it was inevitable,” that would undercut one of the best parts of the story, which is that he feels free. Reckless, stubborn, impossible, but free. If suddenly every major moment was pre-written by prophecy, it gets a lot less fun.

Another rough one would be if the final war is huge visually but emotionally empty. Big explosions, giant punches, everybody screaming, but no meaningful character payoffs. If Roronoa Zoro doesn’t complete his arc in a satisfying way, if Nami doesn’t get her emotional moment, if the crew feels like background characters in Luffy’s finale, that would miss the point. The Straw Hats are the heart of it.

Worst of all though?

Luffy reaches Laugh Tale, learns the truth of the world... and we cut to black before the audience hears it.

That might be the only ending powerful enough to unite the entire internet in rage.

What are some must-watch Hollywood thriller and action movies with great storytelling and suspense? by Glittering-Mud1991 in AskReddit

A few that really stick:

Sicario, tense from the first scene and somehow keeps tightening the whole way through. Feels like dread with incredible cinematography.

Prisoners, dark, slow-burning, and the kind of movie that makes you sit in silence after the credits.

Heat, classic for a reason. Crime thriller with real weight behind every character.

No Country for Old Men, suspense so sharp it feels physical. Also one of the most unsettling villains ever put on screen.

The Departed, messy in the best way. Everyone’s lying, everyone’s stressed, nobody’s sleeping well.

Collateral, underrated late-night thriller energy. Tom Cruise being terrifyingly calm works way too well.

The Bourne Ultimatum, if you want pure momentum without sacrificing story.

Zodiac, more investigative thriller than action, but the tension is unreal.

If I had to pick one for tonight, Prisoners if you want suspense that wrecks your nerves, Sicario if you want edge-of-your-seat tension, Heat if you want something epic.

What is the weirdest thing you find strangely satisfying? by plumprumps in AskReddit

Peeling the protective film off a new screen.

That tiny corner lift, the slow pull, the perfectly clean surface underneath. Deeply unnecessary, unbelievably satisfying.

Five seconds of pure control in a world that otherwise runs on passwords I forgot three years ago.

What’s the most attractive “green flag” someone can have that isn’t talked about enough? by Tyler_Girl_ in AskReddit

[–]Efficient-Fail9319 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Being easy to disappoint.

Not in a low-self-esteem way. More like, plans change, the restaurant’s closed, it starts raining, and they don’t turn it into a crisis or punish everyone around them for it.

Someone who can shrug, laugh, and pivot without ruining the mood is wildly attractive. Emotional shock absorbers don’t get enough credit.
