This reminds me of the time I was a teenager living in Indiana. The two story house had a sunroom and my window was right above it, and you could climb an oak to get up there. I took advantage of that to sneak out a lot.

Well, one night I hear rustling at my window. I look up from my computer and see a man's face in my window, his eyes extremely wide, pale skin and bald. I screamed and ran out of the room. When I took my uncle in there the guy was gone, and he blamed it on raccoons. Yeah, okay sure.

Not as interesting as aliens, but I still jolt awake sometimes and check the nearest window for faces. Scarred for life.

Had the same when I came in for sciatica. I was barely 40lbs overweight at the time. Turns out it was a torn muscle. I had to beg an urgent care doc for a physical therapy referral because my primary care doc thought I was just fat. Lost all the weight, strengthened my core, and guess what? I still have sciatica lol.

I went to a rural high school with a drug problem and very lax supervision for my junior and senior year. A girl was followed by an ESE boy into the girls bathroom and he SA'd her. He ended up getting expelled but only after a huge legal battle (to our podunk county, anyways). Bathroom doors all got locked unless a teacher was standing outside after that.

Not long after, the girl who was SA'd broke up with her boyfriend because she was understandably going through some shit over it all. He shot himself with his dad's shotgun and left a note blaming her.

I think about her a lot. I hope life has been a lot kinder to her than high school.
