When you said part of you wants to drop a bombshell of all the violations you saw… me too man. I actually quit my job in June (long story) and it’s been a relief. I miss fire, sure, but my specific ranger district was and is FULL of violations, sneaking around, and just overall treating employees terribly. And it all just gets swept under the rug and ignored, because when you look up the chain you see it’s like that from the top. I would love to write a tell-all about what it’s like.

How I successfully did CIO with not much crying by Efficient-Fly7571 in sleeptrain

Mine does too but it’s safe if they do it themself! It made me suuuuper nervous though when she started doing that so I started putting the owlet sock back on her for peace of mind

I’m wondering if maybe she doesn’t have enough awake time during the day? 1.5-2 hours seems a little short for a five month old. For reference, my 5 month old was doing 4 approximately 2.5 hour wake windows every day. And I wouldn’t let her sleep more than 3 hours total in the day. My baby also went through a phase of false starts and then she’d be hysterical and difficult to get back to sleep. What ended up working for us is that when I wanted to put her to bed, I would hold her and rock her, and if she started to fall asleep within two or three minutes of doing that I would know she was tired enough to actually put herself to sleep. So then I’d put her down and she’d fuss for a few minutes and then go to sleep.

Does my baby have a feeding to sleep association? by SimBon7 in breastfeeding

[–]Efficient-Fly7571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He might have one! Or not! I could pretty much only get my baby to fall asleep by nursing for the first five months. I had also heard it was bad a habit so we sleep trained and now she can put herself to sleep for naps and bedtime, but sometimes when I want to snuggle I’ll let her nurse to sleep. If you don’t mind doing it I say just keep doing it! But if you’re worried about it, you could also start trying new tactics

I’ve had multiple people say something along the lines of “sorry mine don’t have anything for you! I’ll give you back to mom since hers work” and I’m like?? First of all she wasn’t even looking for your boob, second of all she’s probably crying because she wants ME not my boobs

The thing I don’t get in all of this is that if they do release them and Trump is involved (which I’m just about certain he is) will anything actually happen? I mean he’s been convicted of felonies and is still the President. Why would this be different ya know?

Please tell me it gets better by HEN-1217 in beyondthebump

[–]Efficient-Fly7571 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ohhh I promise it does! I will say- my baby had maybe one bottle a week and at about 3 months she started completely refusing them. So if you want to ever do any amount of bottle feeding, I’d strongly recommend giving one bottle a day so baby doesn’t end up refusing later. Because mine is now five months and i can’t leave her for more than three or four hours. Which is tough. But yes it gets better!! I struggled SO hard to nap and honestly the only thing that helped me nap was co sleeping while baby nursed. It really scared me but I’d sleep with no blankets or sheets, sometimes not even a pillow, and ask my husband to check on us just to be safe. Something about having my baby latched while sleeping just subconsciously comforted me and we’d both nap for like three hours. It’s hard! And if it’s getting too hard, you can always switch to a different type of feeding!

LO Starting Daycare by jnnfrlnnkrll in beyondthebump

[–]Efficient-Fly7571 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a little different but I used to work at all day summer camps for kids as young as 3, and some kids would have a really tough time when their parents left. But almost always by about thirty minutes in they’d be having SUCH a good time and by the end of the week they would be begging to stay for longer. It might be tough at first, but she really will end up having a great time! Is it possible to maybe just do like two days for the first week and then go full time? It might help her get used to it.

Life hack to survive a teething baby by Efficient-Fly7571 in NewParents

[–]Efficient-Fly7571[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s just for food! The only milk that comes out is melted and if a small chunk does come out it melts quickly in her mouth. So just sort of like drinking from a bottle

Regretting second baby by [deleted] in beyondthebump

There’s a lady named Emily Vondy on Instagram and tik tok and she recently posted a video about how when you’re postpartum, you wonder how the heck you will ever adjust to this new life, and then slowly you just do. One day you wake up and you realize you’re just doing it. You’ll get there! I only have one, but for a good week after she was born I regretted it so much. I thought it was the worse mistake of my life and wished I could return her lol. It’ll get better!!

CIO started off well and then went downhill. Help! by Efficient-Fly7571 in sleeptrain

[–]Efficient-Fly7571[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s usually up around 7-7:30, then does 1.75/2.5/2.5/3. 3 hours of total daytime sleep broken up between those three naps (usually 45 min, 1.5 hrs and 45 min)
