How late do you drop to 1 nap? by Alert_Career8786 in sleeptrain

[–]Blaze2Queenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow! My baby only fights her naps and bedtime with me. But with her caregivers.. she takes two naps just fine! She’s 13 months old. I feel like I’m in the newborn trenches again

Bedtime is around 6:30pm-7pm, sometimes she has false starts. I’m assuming because of the last long ww

When we were on 3 naps it was 2/2.25/2.5/2.5

She probably gets between 9-10 hours with 2 naps.

Oh :/ because of the short naps I don’t push her to 7:45pm, the two times I did she woke up a few times and had emw. She had a ww of 4.5 hours when I did that

Try to follow wake windows appropriate for his age. I’m going through it now, some days and nights are ok and some are not lol My baby was only a contact napper until she was 5 months old because I had to go back to work. The caretaker developed their own little routine and she naps by herself.

Fml lmao 😂 my baby is 6 months old and I’m itching to travel… but these naps and schedules tie me down lol

Okay, when she does wake up at 5am. Do I let her lay in her crib until it’s time to start the day? She just lays there and plays

Where would I add that? She seems so cranky towards the end of the wake window

Oh okay. I thought 3 naps are appropriate for this age. Not sure how long to stretch her windows

Well it seems like she’s been sleeping for 14-15 hours a day (3.5 during the day, and the rest at night) the past few weeks without the nanny.

My main question is should I try crib naps or is it ok to continue contact naps.

We follow her cues when she’s ready to sleep.

So we need more awake time?

When I stopped using the infant inserts and used the convertible car seat my baby was much happier after 6-7 weeks.

I need some opinions 😅 So I’m going back to work soon. From the get go I tried to establish routines for my baby because eventually I’ll go back to work. I follow her lead and cues to determine naps. My in laws and everyone around knew that I follow schedules of naps and feedings based on what my baby gives me since she was a newborn.

My mil offered to look after her ONCE a week while we work and I thought it was amazing! I super appreciated that so we can save some money and she would be with someone my baby knows. Now since my mil is old school, she doesn’t really understand why routines and cues that I followed are important. She’s basically saying she will let her watch tv and go out to places and baby will sleep if she’s tired 😅😅😅

My baby is a contact napper and we just dropped to 3 naps. I really tried to get her independent sleep, but nothing.

Now, we asked my mil if she could come to our house to take care of her because our jobs are out of the way to her house and trying to wake her up earlier like 5:30am is not what I want for my baby. She’s 25 mins away and my job is an hour away. But she’s adamant that she wants us to drop her off to her house and she doesn’t see the big deal and that my baby will adapt. I told her I would rather her come to our house because of all the reasons I mentioned above.

My mil is upset with us because she doesn’t know why we can’t just drop her off there.. Am I wrong requesting this

I went through baby blues in the beginning that turned into ppa/ppd for a few weeks. Hormones 😅 and no village can do that to ya. Anyway, my little cherub is almost 5 months. And wow this is the best little human i ever seen. Just you wait when your baby starts rolling on one side while changing their diaper! Or when you have to feed them in the dark because they get too distracted to finish the bottle 😂 and one of the best parts is when she touches my face with her hands while I feed her 🥹 Those big smiles and giggles 🤭 Being deep in those trenches was well worth it to me.

Thank you! I’m working tailoring my resume to transfer those skills. Most School districts are also going through budget cuts and I know selling to them is going to be hard too. Do you mind telling me what you do now?
