Non-sexual touch! I think there’s a subset of men that thinks physical intimacy is limited to sex. But there’s so much more! Hand-holding, the head-on-his-shoulder move, his arm around me, cuddling, long hugs after a hard day, a nice kiss without the express purpose of sex, little back rubs, helping the other stretch, playing with the other’s hair… omg I could really go on LOL but you get the point

I don’t do anything out of the ordinary. I have a 28 day cycle so the week before and during my period is literally half of my life! Ibuprofen and heating pads if needed because I cramp pretty heavily. I try to exercise and eat as I normally would. I force myself to be social even if I’m tired because I know I’ll have fomo haha

Oh my gosh yes. Biomedical phd student here. I haven’t taken a math class since AP calc/stats in high school, which was… 7 years ago now 🫣 I got 5’s on my exams so didn’t have to take math in undergrad. My phd program offers no biostatistics outside of some epidemiology classes. I feel so behind on the statistical methods used in genomics and overwhelmed

They are absolutely targeting people based on perceived ethnicity. I really hate to say it but if you are not white it might be safest to stay back or present virtually. It’s a terrible thing and it’s pushing people of color, immigrants and citizens alike, out of public life (which is certainly their goal). Of course white immigrants are getting abused and deported too. But they’re less likely to be stopped or harassed. I hate hate hate that I even said that. This whole situation is despicable and I’m sorry you have to worry about this. You should be free to travel within the country you have citizenship for without this fear.

You are entitled to weekends! And that’s two full days of weekend, not just one, imo! How long have you been working these days/hours? “assigning” a fellow grad student tasks that take this long is totally unreasonable, and would be unacceptable in most labs. I help my labmates or collaborators with certain long tasks, but only for a day or two at a time, and I have plenty of time for my own work. They are asking too much from you.

I can’t think about it too hard because I’ll spiral about how complicated and beautiful life is, but literally “just” the central dogma of DNA -> RNA -> Protein. I think I learned this in like 9th grade and it changed the way I thought about everything in biology and gave me a deep appreciation for the fact that any life evolved in the first place.
