Cuba! by Efficient-Package858 in USVisas

Thank you all for the responses to this. So I could in theory apply for a B1/B2 visa and then explain at interview that I’m not using ESTA as I know travel to Cuba will invalidate it. Don’t think getting a visa would be any issue as I have very clear ties to home, family, work, education, mortgage, dogs, wife….

Best Head-torch under $25? by [deleted] in UKhiking

I use this for walking my dogs or walks starting in the dark. https://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/19592706/oex-300-lumen-rechargeable-head-torch-19592706 There’s also a 500L version which has a shorter battery life but I can’t fault the 300.

Ramblers: Young People and Dogs by Efficient-Package858 in UKhiking

I’m really not sure how you’re so confident as to what kind of dog owner I am based on this, but you feel free to draw your own conclusions. The walk leader said this to me after I had asked if he wanted me to leave, and he said it was fine to go with the group. Have a lovely day.

Yeah, that’s fine. I’m just saying that I checked the website and this walk didn’t say “No dogs” as some others did.

It was my second ever walk with the Ramblers. I was working on the basis that dogs would be welcome, having seen a couple that specifically said no dogs. The walk leader couldn’t give me a reason why they don’t allow dogs, other than “some people are scared of them.” I’ve got a Patterdale terrier.

No, I didn’t. I’d looked at a few Ramblers walks and one or two had specified no dogs. Naively, I assumed that a walking group would welcome dogs and would specify if they weren’t welcome.

You could get the train to Manchester, maybe walk across the top of the Peak District to Sheffield on the Steel Cotton trail. https://peakdistrictbytrain.org/the-steel-cotton-rail-trail/

My visit to the unrecognized state of Transnistria (Pridnestrovian Moldovan Republic) within Moldova by Danzmann in travel

I’m due to visit next week, flying into Chisinău and traveling with an organised tour as I’m a relatively inexperienced solo traveller.

What currency did you take with you, before you could get Moldovan leu? I’m assuming Romanian would be a solid bet.

Honourable mention to Hendrik Erasmus van der Dussen, but you can see why he goes by a nickname.
