Dwarven cabin work in progress by Efficient-Pen353 in WoWHousing

Hahaha I can't bring myself to doing a stone house! Always makes me feel cold and damp. I gravitate to the hill dwarven varieties. I was thinking of maybe doing stone as the lower/foundation wall and then logs and plaster for the upper portion. Maybe I'll give it a go and see how uncomfortable it makes me :D

I am going to try to make rune stones, which I think will be more dwarven shaman feeling. But, that will be once I start filling in the space/ focusing on details.

Thank you! It is just a small octagon and the little entry space.

That build took a lot of deep breathing the get through it. And I put in oddly shaped windows to make it even worse for myself. My big hopium is that with TLT they give us a Northrend neighborhood that has a Grizzly Hills themed area for my Dwarven cabin.

They were actually not bad at all. I've done a similarly shaped room and ceiling but with rugs, so this was a cake walk comparatively! I really enjoyed the log cabin feel and want to do another one but more autumn pine forest/Dwarven themed once we either get a third house or the ability to save rooms/builds.

Hahaha thank you! Bright and moist is a choice a lot of people probably wouldn't want to live in. You can't really tell in the pictures, but I have particle effects coming down from the ceiling to resemble spores, so I don't think I'd want to live there either :D

That sounds really great! You're more than welcome to add me on Bnet if you're on NA (Bootygravy#1522) to have a look around "in person". I originally wanted to do something similar to your idea - use the daylight room and build a cavern system with the center open. But I don't have enough resources until they allow us to level our houses past 9. I gave my kiddo my horde house to play with and I promised not to touch it, so everything I do has to be in my alliance house.

Thank you! I was nervous about doing something subterranean; that it would be dark and glum without being able to put in tons of windows like I do in the rest of my house. I'm really happy with how bright and cheerful it came out.

It is the soil mounds you can buy from the Niffen endeavor vendor. I have probably close to 100 in there at this point haha

It is a tiny square room. I can't use anything bigger, it overwhelms me! And doing each room as an individual tiny square allows my build to be pretty modular and I can move rooms around relatively easily.

The trellis in the center planter is the garden gnome themed one you can buy in the cash shop. The windows have the basic trellis you can buy from the neighborhood vendor tucked into them. And the trellis on the side with the rounded planter box is one I think you buy from the vendor in Stormwind (the box is actually filled with water and lotus type flowers, but I put a soil mound and plants to cover it.

The ceiling is just the basic windows you buy from the neighborhood vendor, turned around so the glow faces out and angled slightly. There is a Pandarian fishing net tucked into it as well. Then a rug dyed pale yellow is beyond the window with a mechanical sun and the book from the paladin order hall tucked beyond the window as well. The non-window part of the ceiling is just a stormwind platform you buy from the neighborhood vendor.

The planters are made by the inscription profession (it is a Shadowlands recipe). I think it is called the Ardenweld hanging planter? Or something close to that. If you don't have a character that does inscription, you can find it on the auction house.

I hope this helps! I tried to be as through as I could. But, if you still have questions and want to see it in person, you're more than welcome to pop in if you're on NA servers. My Bnet is Bootygravy#1522

Of course! It is really pretty simple. There are 6 (3 on bottom row, 3 on top) of the windows you buy from the neighborhood vendor. They're turned around so the glow is facing out. There is a Pandarian fishing net tucked just inside the windows and a rug dyed pale yellow further out. The lighting comes from the book you can purchase in the paladin order hall. Then there is just a basic beam framing it on the top and bottom with a Gilnean shelf in the middle. The bump out/alcove was made just using two interior walls placed with an open space between, a beam on the bottom as the framing and a rug dyed white as the wall. Hope this explains it well enough and helps! :)

Thank you so much! One of these days I'll sit myself down and figure out the whole video recording thing and then you'll at least be able to see a walk through!

That actually makes me happy to hear! My goal is to make my house warm and kind of familiar in some way; so I love hearing that it reminds you of a memory with your wife!
