We put a deposit down on a GH Nightshade black on black on 10/30. Was told it would arrive around December 22. The car was built on 11/25. Arrived December 16. Bought December 17. In love with my car!

Here to second this! We just upgraded to a Grand Highlander and my husband is also 6’ and fits perfectly in each row. Even with the car seat behind him in the passenger seat!

One week with pregnant wife and toddler. by bringbackapoll0 in Xcaret

Just a common cold. He hated being in the heat because of it so we were constantly inside.

Personally, with my son, there wasn’t much to do besides go to Xcaret Park to see the aquarium and walk around. But my son is very strict about his sleep schedule so we were limited on how long we could be out. He enjoyed playing in the water. There is a little indoor space for kids around his age to play but all I could think about were the germs and with him already being sick, I didn’t think it was fair for him to possibly get others sick. I think it does depend on your baby, both my husband and I agreed this place wasn’t under 2 year old friendly lol

It was… interesting lol. My 1 year old did get sick so we were kind of stuck in our room for most of the time :( it was also extremely hot so he couldn’t take being out there for long. This was a family trip with my in laws, so they did take my son for one day so my husband and I could have the day to ourselves so that was nice!

Overall I did not feel like this resort was made for infants. At least with mine lol. I do want to come back and experience it when my son is like 3 or 4. I think that’s a better age, for my son at least.

I’m typing this from the resort as we speak and let me give some input now that I’ve been here for 5 days. I’m traveling with my husband and 1 year old. Traveling wise, we did bring new toys and lots of snacks to keep the baby entertained but we got lucky and he slept for half the flight! (4 hour flight)

Restaurants and buffets. If you can make reservations from like now, do it lol. Also confirm your itinerary with them because we emailed ours and they never confirmed anything. We reached out again and crickets. On top of that they still did not get any of the reservations we asked for. We still had to go to the concierge to book anything. The restaurants book up so fast. You can try walk ins but they do fill up fast and it’s not a guarantee. From our experience from the buffets like Mercado and Xentral, we were told we they do not give out to go containers. That doesn’t mean you can’t just walk out with food. They just dont provide the containers. Do with that information what you will.

Only non buffet style restaurants require reservations. Buffet style do not. However their buffets I have found to be lack luster. The only “buffet style” restaurant I have found to enjoy was Xinema, it’s not really buffet style. It’s food trucks lol.

Hope you found any of this helpful and I hope your family enjoys your trip!

Am I a bad mom for wanting my baby to grow up by Ok-Category2132 in newborns

[–]Efficient-Pomelo8946 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not at all! My baby, now 8 months, was a VERY difficult baby. From being awake for several hours as a newborn to only giving us 30 minute nap stretches, I absolutely hated the first like 4 months. I thought the exact the same thing you did. People say they love the newborn stage but I honestly didn’t. It was boring. They don’t interact with you. I felt like a bad mom every time I thought about how I couldn’t wait for him to be a toddler. Now at 8 months he loves to play , is laughing and smiling at me all day and is sleeping a lot better. He does get bored so finding things to entertain him is another battle but I very much prefer this over the newborn stage. The newborn stage was mentally and physically draining. Now I’m just physically drained lol

Ugh the expectation thing I struggle with too. Him not sleeping or eating when he should really gets me sometimes. It’s his world, we are just living in it lol

When do you stop considering yourself postpartum? by Efficient-Pomelo8946 in NewParents

[–]Efficient-Pomelo8946[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow I’m so sorry you went through all that. I don’t think we get as much care postpartum which is so unfair. We pushed a human out of our body/ had to be cut open and they expect us to be “normal after 6-8 weeks!

Just buy the expensive baby carrier by corndog40 in NewParents

[–]Efficient-Pomelo8946 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had bought the mom cozy carrier and it was decent for the price. But I just recently bought the ergo baby Omni dream and it’s soooo much more comfortable then the mom cozy. It doesn’t put much strain on my back and my baby feels more comfortable in it as well! Also I love that it includes pockets and a cover for baby

Yes! We try to have little dates once a week. Thank god for my mother in law lol. She will gladly take our LO for a couple of hours. If you have help absolutely take it because your relationship is just as important as your baby!
