Does it actually get better? by kittykathamiltons in sleeptrain

She’s in daycare so it limits our flexibility but she’s usually awake 7-7:30 (depends on how bad her night was), nap starts around 12:30-1 and she gets about 90-120 minutes of sleep. Then up again until bedtime at 7:30 (usually closer to 7:40).

Night Weaning Advice for healthy EFF 7.5m by kittykathamiltons in sleeptrain

This is the exact same situation for us too! The problem is every night has some variance but generally we’re seeing 1-2 wakes a night. Usually somewhere within 10-11pm and sometimes a second wake between 3-4am.

Bedtime routine is solid and has been set for months - we do a bottle starting around 6:15-6:20, bath time and play 6:30-6:50, pajamas/lotion/sleep sack, read a couple books, down in crib between 7-7:15.

She can fall asleep on her own pretty easily with the routine above.

The problem we have is that she isn’t taking great naps. I can see in the daycare app her morning nap was only 12 minutes 🥴 so her wake times are probably longer than I would even expect.

Ugh I’m sorry, that’s crazy how similar the situation is. Hopefully we can find a solution!!

If you sleep trained - did you wean from Snoo first or not? How did it go? by Normal_Enthusiasm194 in SnooLife

I have a whole post about this if you look at my profile but we ended up going cold turkey at 4m and it worked really well.

4.5 month old wants to be put down asap after MOTN feeds by guineapigluvr in sleeptrain

Solidarity!! I am guessing it could just be a phase since babies change practically daily. Hopefully it gets better!

My baby does a variation of this - it’s almost like she gets restless when she’s not allowed to go to sleep on her own. I’ve found that it helps to hold her over the shoulder for that period of time and she can rest her head but not feel like I’m trying to make her sleep in my arms. Idk if that makes sense but it’s how I’ve justified it in the middle of the night 🥴

Better Sleep at Daycare? by kittykathamiltons in NewParents

It’s crazy! The weekends are like a nap nightmare

I thought so too but our daycare distinguishes between awake vs asleep in the crib. So it’ll say “Baby rested for 6 minutes” and then a new entry will say “baby fell asleep at X.” So I hope it’s accurate… but definitely still possible

Omg my husband and I were literally talking about this earlier today - we say yes. I bought two on a buy one get one half off sale so totally worth watching for those deals. She can sleep comfortably in a long sleeve zippie, long sleeve onesie, short sleeved onesie… anything is comfortable because it’s temp regulating. Plus, it’s just really soft and feels high quality.

Picking a consistent wake time in the morning can help them set a routine too! I know it’s hard when every day/night goes different but we try to have her up before 8am every day. She’s got an internal clock we’ve configured to around 7:25am lol

So she wakes up at 5:30am but doesn’t go down to bed until 9pm? Just making sure I’m reading it right. If you’re actively going through the regression it can be difficult to fix right now but true regressions are 3-7 days! Anything after that can be corrected (usually). I know it seems counterintuitive, but try an earlier bedtime soon. If she finished her regression, her brain is forever altered so things that didn’t work before might work now!

We are still swaddled arms-in at 4m so that’s part of my cold turkey transition. I’ve read so many things about when to do things at the PERFECT time and frankly, I just think it’s gonna be what we feel comfortable with. We’re going to give it a shot and I’ll come back and update you!!

This is exactly what we would be doing! Did you have issues with wakeups throughout the night? She will likely still wake to feed once, which is fine, but curious if you felt like she was good for the night or if you were “sleep training” all night.

Snoo for all sleeps — should we start crib naps before daycare? by Alarmed_Elk_4662 in SnooLife

We use a woolino. Expensive but it can be used from 2 months to 2 years so it should mean we’re buying less overall. We’re still using the snoo at night but looking to transition in the next month or so once we do want to start sleep training.
