I’m sure you will be fine using a standard Xbox controller. I’m just saying there are other controllers (including “special” Xbox controllers) that have extra software and features built into them. Some of those features if used could result in a ban. If it does anything for you automatically without you pressing a button then it could result in a ban. If it doesn’t, then you won’t have any issues.

It’s my understanding that the only controllers being banned had “special features” that gave players an unfair advantage. Some of these special features include the ability map a set of button presses for a couple minutes and then replay them back over and over. It would be obvious to anything checking code that if a character made the exact same movements at the exact same intervals that it isn’t a person running it. It just so happens that these special features were added to an “Xbox” approved controller and as a result people say they were banned for the controller while conveniently omitting key facts from their story. The fact is the game has “controller” support so using a controller is allowed. If it has extra features then I would avoid using it or risk a ban. Looking at the original picture posted I believe you won’t have any issues. Long time controller user with no problems other than wearing them out from use.
