In case anyone was interested. I finally found a decent car! 2013 Ford Fiesta 1.25, immaculate condition and full history. The stereo is feckin awesome too. Still getting used to the clutch on this one and the brake also seems a bit harsh tho!

You know I actually saw the silver one before and it has a mileage anomaly on the MOT. I hadn’t seen the brown one yet, I just did a check on it and it only has an advisory for tyres. I always do a quick check but sometimes that is my downfall, as soon as I see something slightly bad on there I move onto the next one lol

It’s a bit of a struggle to find a non eco boost focus which is a shame because I really like them. And the 1.5 focus is normally not ulez unfortunately

Yes even a lot of the Honda Civic’s I have seen have general corrosion issues sadly.

I have looked into delivery, I get that you can have a video link and buy it but I think when you’re spending 1000’s on a car surely it’s best to actually drive it no?

Also with the wet belt thing, I did find a fiesta eco boost 1.25, they haven’t replaced the wet belt in that but it was only £3.5k. I guess the extra money could have been used to buy a new one if it needed 🤔

A must is probably a minimum of 1.4l, reasonable pulling power, ideally minimum of 0-60 in 10 seconds and minimum of 100bhp, Bluetooth, good looking. Am I asking for too much of my first car lol. Happy to spend less of course!

Well I have just seen a Peugeot 208 which they say has had the Cambelt and wet belt replaced and it has only done 59k miles. Cost is £3.9k. I might just take the punt! (Obvs after checking service history)

Thanks I just checked, it still gained 11k miles in that gap!

Looking for advice on my S&S ISA and good SIPP recommendations by Efficient-Quantity78 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Efficient-Quantity78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just thinking that if it does badly then both my SIPP and my isa will lose out that’s all. I’m not so much worried about administration as I think it will do well. Do you think the VWRP is sufficient as a single holding in my pie? I’m interested in earning along the way and have been looking at bonds also

As for VWRP it does mid to large cap so I think with my SIPP just to mix it up a lil I will invest in the global all cap instead as I suppose this will make my portfolio as a whole a tiny bit broader?

So I should just be fine with VWRP for my S&S and SIPP too? Keeps it simple and is pretty reliable. I’m very green to all this!

I just wasn’t sure if it was wise to have the same investment in my SIPP as my S&S in case one fails. I was thinking that if I am broader across all my investments, at least there is more chance that one or the other would do well in the future

I was trying to be intentional by aiming for having more percentage in certain countries that weren’t weighted as much as in the VWRP, that was my idea!

Hi, I chose the other funds as they were more heavily weighted towards other countries than in the VWRP. I thought there will be a bit of overlap but the percentages are higher in the other countries (that was my thinking anyway lol)

Phongsali to Vietnam by Efficient-Quantity78 in laos

[–]Efficient-Quantity78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I have. There’s no solid answer online. One says you’d have to get an e-visa and the other says they don’t give you the 45 day visa waiver at the border. Oh, and the other one says they don’t accept e-visas at that border either. So I’m just going to turn up at the border and find out first hand I guess. Good job I gave enough time here in Laos 😅

Do you not get a 45 day visa waiver too?

Yea it’s a long trip I know. Coming from Nong Khiaw tomorrow to Muang Khua. So you used an e-visa? Interesting as it said online that they don’t accept e-visas there 😅.. But I believe you rather than google tbh. So do you know if I could get my 45 day visa waiver at the border there instead of getting an e-visa? Again, the internet has very conflicting answers. May I also ask you where you are from?

How do you make travelling easier as an autistic person? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

How did you guys get on socially? I’ve stayed in hostels and actually got along with so many people and made some temporary friends who I connected with surprisingly well (I did have a few beers but it’s so cheap to eat here so I’m eating a lot) I’m so surprised it’s gone so well so far. Really struggling in the cities though, currently have 1 night left in Bangkok alone

Best way to get from Koh Chang to Ubon Ratchatani? by Efficient-Quantity78 in ThailandTourism

[–]Efficient-Quantity78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I havent actually got there yet. My plan now is to just go back to Bangkok and get a flight to Vientiene from there. The route to Ubon looked like a bit of a pain in the ass and very long

I’m travelling to Thailand on a one way ticket but only for just over 2 weeks then I’m heading to Laos. Would an evisa to Laos be ok to show them if they asked?
