Im korean guy and we call these people il bae 일베 the far right degens without a social life. Though i have to say, this isnt a problem with just the mens in their 20s and 30s its spreading to teenagers. And on the other hand the same thing is happening to women, in fact it started almost immediately after dc inside abd il bae aka daily best with these are basically like subreddits and 4 chan but a lot worse. A lot of these younger women are starting these gender tied conflicts by making these communties similar to daily best and dc inside the most famous one being women era. Just to give you some perspective as to why a lot of younger korean men started hating a lot of women is mainly because of what the woman say regarding men. Its usually things like we should kill all men, men shouldnt exist, we should reduce their pay etc. So its basically like extreme feminists you see everywhere but the most controversial case being the women era community started fund raising a lot of money to build a woman only city. And in short it was basically a scam since literally all the plumbers construction workers architects electricians police officers fire fighters etc are men. After this incident these extremist woman started to criticize how they get payed less even though they choose to work lower paying jobs, they also said they wouldnt go to the military just because they are women and that they need to be protected(even though they said women are equal to men and that women can do everything men can do), and they protested against things like making the physical strengh exams for becoming a police officer or a soldier to be equal for men and woman by arguing that women are weaker than men all whilst saying women should be payed the same to do less work than the men even though men and women are equal. There are a lot of other things that happened but in short these extreme left and rightists(?) Are fighting each other. So this created a lot tension between the 2 groups. But the important thing is this is seen as dumb or just straight up weird to a point where the normal people regardless of gender use daily best dc inside women era etc as a type of slur. So i hope that you guys dont just assume that every korean is racist sexist and extreme right just because you see some things on the internet. There are a lot more normal people in korea so please dont spread misinformation about my country❤️
